256K is a no-go, thats what he has right now. Problem is since its P2P the upload bottlenecks and he lags out in anything bigger than a 2v2.

Anybody know the general numbers on how much upstream / downstream is needed to play a 5v5 + have vent running? I have a clanmate with pretty weak broadband, so with peer to peer it may bottleneck him.
""" Another feature request, just add some method of peer-to-peer routing! Scenario: If Person A can connect to Person B, but not C. Person C can connect to Person B, but not A. Use his shield, hardest counter to unclean beast I've seen yet. Makes him unable to damage you for a few seconds and removes the damage over time from the acid spit. With high level, it even heals back the damage difference and then some. As for him running away, use the single target attack (can't remember name) which reduces their movement speed, and also serves as a good finishing move if they're low on health.
My List -Team Pantheon -No autoattack while moving, I've died too many times trying to retreat and having my demigod stop, turn around, swing, and then run again. -Attack move, makes cleaning up reinforcements less troublesome -Reinforcement scaling, I remember pre-release screenshots showing huge numbers of units on screen, versus the 9-10 currently in each wave late game
It is a shame reviewers hit you guys so hard over connectivity issues, whereas games like Dawn of War 2 got away with their joke of a matchmaking system that takes 20+ minutes to put two teams of three together, and still hasn't been fixed to this day. This is a fun game, I hope it does well.
Has anyone stopped to consider that BECAUSE there are more demigods on light they are losing? Currently the system AFAIK is randomized teams thrown against each other. More players = more potential noobs = less effective teams going up against dark. If / When they implement team-based matchmaking then we will have a better idea.
But then you're living a lie and for the rest of your life will be held by the fact that you never became one with the ponies.
Are your video drivers up to date?
I don't have any problems with COD4, Crysis, Battlefied 2 / BF2142, QuakeWars or Bioshock. Those are the only games I have installed on Vista64 at the moment and they all work like a champ.
Well right now for me Sins is 10x more stable than Call of Duty 4, I'm just saying don't jump to assumptions based off a single case sample.
Trust me, it isn't just SOASE, I'm having the exact same issue with other games such as CoD4.
I'd recommend waiting until Ironclad releases the demo and see if it runs if upgrading isn't an option, and I'm more concerned about your video card than your processor.
Minimum specs are 1.8 ghz processor, 512 RAM (1 gig if Vista) and Radeon 9600 or better
With my 4x AGP slot what video cards could i buy? DO 8x cards work or does it have to be just 4x compatible- thanks for the help
It has to be 4x I believe. (Hard to remember that far back ;) )
It's $40 everywhere I believe, I got it from Target for $40 as well.
Nothing too horrible, just I've noticed that in single play the AI will continue to put bounties on empires that have already been defeated.

True you can earn money back, but the AI is still forcing you to fulfill commitments in order to earn standings between your two empires, it'd be nice to make them undertake tasks to improve standings with you.
I personally have never seen that happen, I may just be lucky.. but rarely do I see the AI even start to turn to run before my fleet has finished completely jumping and deploying strike craft.
Actually I experience identical issues not only in Sins of a Solar Empire, but also in Crysis and Call of Duty 4 on my 8600 gt on XP SP2 with the 169.21 drivers.
I'm running an 8600 GT on XP with 169.21 drivers and as of 15 minutes ago am experiencing the same driver crash, today was the first time with Sins of a Solar Empire, but it has also been occuring with Call of Duty 4.
