Would it be possible to change smaller ships into "mecha" type things? Like the Mobile Suits in Gundam, and such. Add in a "Blade" weapon type and "Physical Shield" defense type, small ships are mechs, larger ones are battleships, a few mecha-inspired buildings, etc. If you need to know what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mecha So, would that be possible?

I mooch off minor race techs until I have everything I want from them, then I conquer them with influence. Less messy than ground battles, I say.
Nice. Full games? That's a much better demo than DL had, if so...
Space Mines are homing, according to Gundam and Star Fox.
I think there was a rule against that in the evil overlord list...
I wish there was a "Reset defaults" option for this game. For races, Galaxy Settings, etc.
I realized that, it's just that there are a lot of military options. Also, is there any good level for the espionage sliders to be set at?
Lets use Warhammer 40k as an example, because some of you know about it. The Tau, use plasma weapons, so I want my Tau to use plasma weapons. Eldar are known for being fast and agile, so I want my Eldar to have engines over armor. Things like that as an example. Does Warhammer have an AI that has to react to one of three different weapon and defense types being placed on its enemies, and react accordingly by improving its strengths to defeat your weaknesses? This is a s
So...your complaint is that the AI is intelligent, and reacts to situations rather than being predictable and using only what you want it to use..?
Ah, I didn't know about that screen. I'll check it out. One more question, in games with lots of customization, like this one, I tend to get overwhelmed militarily, there's too many choices. What are some good ship building strats for having a competitive military?
Thanks, this game looks very fun, if a little more challenging than some 4Xs I've played. Ah, where can I find the "auto survey" command? It's not a DA only thing, right?
And I'm more than a little confused at basic strategy. It should be noted that I don't have Dark Avatar yet, just DL. If I play at even the "beginner" level, the AI seems to have 3-5 planets by the time I have 2, and a bunch of ships besides. I know it's not cheating, and at the lower levels it even gets penalties, so how does it do this, and how can I copy or surpass it? Also, how much does approval matter as a dictatorship? And what is a good buy/build order for my planets, both starting and l
