Advanced <hazardous type> colonization research question in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

do you still get the bonus from researching say advanced aquatic colonization if you already colonized an aquatic planet with the first aquatic colonization tech?

nm i spoke too soon. i got 1 out of 2 ship packs to work. the one that works advertised 10 new ships, and the package has 10 .shipcfg and 10 .xml files. now the next pack has 28 ships advertised with more then 28 .shipcfgs and instead of xmls theyre .shipclass. i tried renaming the .shipclass to .xml but they still don't show up.

i can't get the ships to show up, i followed the instructions and put them in My Documents/My Games/GC2DarkAvatar/ships. i have v1.5 DA, any idea why they won't show up? i tried everything, and tested on battle of gods, they are no where to be found. oh and i'm pretty sure i have the collector's edition parts, when im using the shipyard under the Extras tab theres parts in the generic category with the description "Collectors edition part"
