I wouldnt worry about the AI grabbing all the Extreme planets, it tends ot hurt them more than anythign else. Basically, those extremes ahve a reduced production value and they tend to ahve a very pwoerful drag on the AI. By the time I get the tech Im usually very close to getting the PLanetary Invasion line and then I just take the planets over - with basics indsutry intact, after the AI built it up for me lol. I found an odd bug whereby the texture of ships goes transparent, leaving you unable to find or see your ships on the map. Specifically, when you send a ship into a square with another ship in it, and the ships are not in a fleet yet, sometimes the resultant image on the map is blank. Well, best I can do here is tell you how I like to play, I usually play at Crippling altho I can handle the AI at harder levels (I just dislike the idea of them getting so many bonuses over me). Here is a quici compilation of tips: - First, realize that everything you add onto a Colony Ship jacks up the price. The cost you see in the Shipyard screen is multiplied by 10x (I think) for Buy Now. While I eventually upgrade my propulsion on my ships, thats not the best way to do a Colony
