I was curious if it was completely memory resident or not so I performed some tests. Using the new Reliability and Performance Monitor, I switched DreamScene on and off. When off my CPU runs at 1 to 2% usage compared to 10% when on (according to a cpu gadget meter on sidebar). In the Perfomance monitor, I seen the memory increase but it does not appear to be accessing the hard disk. So I would have to say Vista does attempt to load the entire file into memory if possible. Actually I don't think the length matters as long as it fits on your hard drive. I assume it continuously streams from the file. Also, mpeg2 is the preferred format as it takes less cpu time. Dream King

DashXone, One of the things I tried when mine wasn't working was clicking on the DreamSwitcher.exe file. It's located in the "Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DeskScapes\" folder. Then go back and see if you can Personalize your Desktop Background with the new Dream files. Dream King

I would like to see some aquarium dreams. I would like also to see the ability to make all icons and gadgets on the desktop disappear as a screensaver. The dreamscene file would become the screensaver. Dream King

DashXone, I put my dream files in the Windows\Web\Windows DreamScene\ folder. You can try that but it really shouldn't make a difference. Dream King

I got the DreamScene Preview currently available for us Ultimate users. I downloaded the Dream files from dream.wincustomize.com. When I got to "Control Panel>Personalization>Desktop Background" and browse to the .Dream files, it won't accept them as valid content. Although it does look like it accepts mpeg content. Also, how do you run Deskscapes? It's not added to my Program Files list and I don't see anywhere within Stardock Central to launch it. Thanks, Dream King Dr
