I brought the backup game up in the rule thread. I seen your reply over there Mumble, however I believe it needs to be discussed a little further. In the rule thread though, so as not to confuse these issues any further

First of all, try and remember if the AI is being "PAID" to take care of you. Because as Nullspace replied in reply #1, The Drath will manipulate others into attacking you. Also what Notger writes in reply #2 about getting others to attack the Altarians, use that all the time, and keeps hostile AI off your butt for a while.

I did once suggest a 1 pnt penalty for late submission by a captain, however I think it would start to get a little complicated, and the more I think of it the more I believe random selection from the software is the way to go. It saves everyone, and as I kind of understand the captain can still make the last minute selection to avoid the software doing it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I would please like verification on nonsubmittal games or a noshow. Does another player play a backup game? The reason I ask this is because of what I read in the ALT MVL. I am almost in total agreement. I know that on Team D, the automated system would never get used.

Regarding pnt 2. I don't believe back up games from other team members should be allowed period. Because yes you would get Mumble or Motti to do the back up game. I will also go with the random selection for a noshow MVL game. I doubt it will ever come to that I hope. However I still think a captain should be able to beat the random selection with a last hour game submittal from the player in question. Passwords for everybody or just 1 per team. Whichever is easisest f
