Well, I needed the practice before i started the "official" game. It WAS kinda funny though.... So, Mega Events OFF . It's Random Events , dammit, Random Events . This is cosmic payback for that time I "borrowed" that Korath spore ship for a harmless joyride...........so clumsy, sooooooo clumsy......poor Torians....
Snarkotamus
Ahhhhhhh, the Econ event! I forgot all about that. *(($-me-with-a-spoon for disabling Mega Events when I started this game. I also choose the wrong alignment for my tech tree. That settles it. I'm starting a new game.....
Congratulations!!! Now get thee over to the Metaverse and join an empire! https://forums.galciv2.com/forum/345
How about this: I set the autosave for 1 turn, or quicksave every turn. If the game crashes, I just load the previous turn and continue on.
Thanks, Neilo! Nice avatar, by the way! It occurred to me in the wee hours that I may have been thinking of Civ5. You set the autosave for every turn and submit the save immediately before the crash and the save immediately after. Hopefully, one of the SD staff will chime in and clarify whether there is a similar procedure for MV games. The Smart Exception does sound somewhat familiar.
OK, I'm trying to complete a Metaverse game, but I have experienced a crash. I seem to recall a policy for submitting "crash exceptions", but I can't find the policy. Can someone post the policy or a link? Thanks
Hehehehhe...errrrr.....ooops. Somehow, and I REALLY don't know how, that bouquet of roses I sent to the Altarian vixen for her wedding got contaminated with a small colony of Drengin Vulvalmites!!! Ewwwwwwww! I can only imagine the carnage that was her honeymoon..... Maybe I shouldn't have used that Carnoids diplomatic pouch, either. I feel REALLY bad about the whole invasion and vengeance-laden attempted genocide thing.
I recall a bug once with building the shrinkers, that if you cued up your shrinker and then gifted that planted to a minor, the shrinker would still be in your build cue since it hadn't completed, and of course the minor doesn't destroy it, so..voila 8 more shrinkers. Pretty sure that was patched out though....
I know it went away by ToA v 2.02, but I am not sure when. If I can get through my 2.04 game
I now have both my legally purchased ToA licenses running. One is 2.02, the other is 2.04. When logging in in 2.02 (probably 2.03 as well), I can select different accounts. In 2.04 I am automatically logged in as the user of record for the v2.04 installation. so If you have purchased multiple licenses for the purpose of maintaining more than three MV characters, you will not be able to use them all if you have a single installation of 2.04. I will now brave
I have had some luck getting minor rages to build Shrinkers by gifting them high-class, terraformed planets at the same time I give/sell them the Expert Miniaturization tech. It is still low percentage, but can pay off if 2 of the 8 minors take the bait.
For this year's annual post, I am pleased to announce that the fearsome X-CORSAIR-X has just been elected, without dissent, to the Kilts and Daggers Imperial Senate!
Join the Kzinti empire. PM their emperor for details and the Imperial Site of Knowledge. I should also mention that assigning the Dread Lords behavior to an opponent is not considered MV Legal. I think MAX SORE (que Darth Vader theme) is a function of computer power. The more ships your machine can handle at once, the higher your military score. Patience is also a huge factor.
If Impulse is gone, how will we get the GC2 update?

Hehe......That reminds me of something glorious ...errr...unfortunate that happpened not too long ago. I was showing the Snathi ambassador how to build up a massive military force via instant upgrade. Just for anecdotal purposes, you understand. Nothing sinister, I assure you. Well, we all know how devious ....errr...clumsy the Snathi are. After rigging the entire weapons system to a single b
Reminds me of the movie The President's Analyst............
That sounds like XP Total Security 2011, which I caught yesterday from the Witcher Wiki. It is one %*(($ to get rid of, too! It totally screwed my primary user profile, even blocking me from getting on the internet. I created a second user (in secure mode), got Malwarebytes (using another computer and a flash drive), and eradicated it. My old user ID is still trashed, so I had to recreate my old desktop using the new user ID. This thing slipped right past my Mc
Quoting Snarkotamus, reply 1The problem is 2.03. Stick with 2.02. Seriously? Version 2.03 kills the game? ... I suppose it's a good thing I never downloaded it, then.
In my personal experience, 2.03 makes the game nearly unplayable. It is possible to complete a 2.03 game, but I have found that it is not worth the risk.I have never been able to get past the "lockup events" when they occur. </p
You will probably have to email to get an answer to that. I bought the Ultimate Edition on disk, which comes as 2.02. Maybe you can convince them to send you the disk. @Stardock: Why do you force customers to download 2.03? There should be an option to download any earlier version instead.
The problem is 2.03. Stick with 2.02.

I have reason to believe that Batiatus is going to post a Suicidal MV game which uses this strategy in a day or so.
Time to throw out a bone. The price: Post some MV scores with your newfound superiority. Galaxy: All-abundant, Immense, Tech Brokering on. 9 AIs, 8 minor races. You: Terran Super Diplomat Technologist. 8 ability points go to speed. This gives you +30 to start. You are NOT going to colonize until later in the game! You are going to research to Intestellar Republic and trade it to each AI for one planet and their space miner. Trade for Interstellar construction and as ma
