The Super manipulator works well in this situation. If you convince one to attack the Altarians, then everyone else who is working with them will jump on them, then you take one of the other races that hopped in to defend the altarians, and you have them attack the altarians, then everyone jumps on them. Eventually you get all the good races and some of the neutrals in a bloody bloody war, and all you have to do is sit back and watch.
Trigger happy republicans? OMG do you drink the kool-aid or do you bath in it? Just cuz Jon Stewart plays at being a reporter, doesn't mean he is one people. Somalia? Bosnia? Serbia? Asprin factories? any of those ring a bell? Forget about or yearly skirmish under the clinton regime against something? I think they did a movie about it, Wag the dog. or how about Operation Desert Fox? you know, Clinton using military force against Iraq too. Know why? Well it's b
You had a lot of good ideas there. Not sure how the Feudalism would be enacted without use of npc characters, but still a useful idea. So to continue with politcs... History shows us that the greatest empires die from within, not from external threats. Some internal political ideas i'd like to see besides an expanded number of governments (because star democracy just doesn't really work for a race of hive minded bugs) is the ever popular cival war.
These ships attacked not only my combat vessels, but also my colony ships, starbases, trade ships, and 7 of my planets deep inside my empire. They have easily taken over the map, but I am just going to weather the storm and build my planets up while they roam about. It's not like anyone can make a move against me as it stands.
I have the Peacekeeper's event, and now all over the map there are swarms of Peacekeeper fleets that are insanely strong and wiping out everything on the map. Thankfully they are just battleships and 0 troop transports, cuz the way they tore through my fleet, the korath, the drengin, the terrans, etc. in only 2 or 3 turns makes me think their ground forces would slaughter us wholesale as well.
