Just in case: yes, I've looked and searched for similar topics on this forum, but none of the information given in related topics resolves my problem.

I've installed the GalCiv II Desktop, believing it was a game extension only to find out it was a program that modifies Windows XP themes. So, wanting to uninstall it, I tried first the uninstall program, which didn't work and popped up a weird screen instead, apparently the uninstall prompt without text content (see screen shot below) and then the Control Panel add/remove, with the same result. I reinstalled that, which allowed me to uninstall the reinstalled program, but not the first one.<br/
