I didn't have the translator, I went to war with Drengi. He eventually contacts me and asks for a peace treaty. How is this possible? Does desperation for a peace treaty suddenly give me the power of a translator? Not only was I able to talk to them, but I could scroll every civ from the diplomacy screen and make deals with them as well. When I left the diplomacy screen and then tried to contact a civ, I got the 'you need the translator' pop up. How can a civ ask for a peace treaty when I don't

I had the same problem. I could care less about designing ships. Has no effect on the game play. This game is already such a time sink I can't imagine whey anyone would spend time designing a ship and fiddling with all that 'extras' crap. If there was an 'artistic' civ or the 'united planets' got together to vote on your ship design, and maybe give you a bonus for something that impressed them, then MAYBE I would spend time on designing. Or, if your opponent would get scared/impressed by how you
I decided to play a military build up game and completely ignore the 'translator' tech. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I go to war with Drengin. After they are cornered, I get a pop up and his leader is asking me to sign for peace. I was like, "huh?" How can you communicate with me when I don't have a translator? Not only was I able to make a deal, I was also able to talk to every other civ in the game by using the scroll button from the 'diplomacy screen'. When I was out of that screen, and t
I've got 3400 cpu, 1 gig of ram, and an ATI x850. Whenever there is a battle scene, or an explosion of a ship, the game pauses about five seconds before it finishes the explosion. Even in the main overview of two ships fighting, the explosion never plays out without a long stuttering pause. Is this a joke? It's a turn based game with practically zero movement at any time. How can it not properly render a tiny ship explosion in real time?
I lost a game last night on challenging. By the end, the others had all kinds of nice ships, some even with 12 attack and 6 speed. I had not gained one single ship through all my research. I had the abilty to make a miner, a defender, a colony, a freighter, and that was it. I had researched weapons all the way to Warp drive, defenses all the way to at least titanium armor, had reached 17 logistic points, engines past ion drive, ship hulls to medium. I was able to make my own ship, and the best i
I finally figured out how to download the DA expansion, no thanks to the contradictory information being sent to me by emails and what it says in SC. First of all, when I tried to install it form SC, using the 'install', I get error messages, but no indication of what is causing the problem. I then sent those messages to tech help and a couple other places. When I finally went into my stardock account settings, and tried to register 'DA', it tells me 'no serial is required'. Yet, after
It's nice that I don't have to wait until release day, but now the install link on Stardock central does not work. I keep getting 'unhandled errors' Also, when I open stardock, it says it can't validate my info for DA. (proper email is in there) Yet, under 'games', it shows DA with an 'install' button. Here's the log of the 'error file': -- [Application] ---------------------------------------------------- Name: Stardock Central Path: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral<br/
I just got an email from stardock telling me the beta is closed. Why wasn't this info posted either clearly in the forums, or bettery yet, in the order form, just before I paid for it? Ex: "Before you purchase the expansion, please note that the beta has been closed and you will not receive a download link for the expansion. You will have to wait until official release." I really wanted to play the game last night, especially after reading the thousand posts in the forums conce
Funny, I bought the exp today and I didn't get any option to download it. Just an email that tells me I'll be notified when it's released. I guess I'll have to wait until Feb 12.
Why, in my purchase order, does it show my shipping address when I chose 'download only'? If it was being shipping to me, there would have been an additional shipping charge above the $29.99, correct?
I did a serial request. I got an email with only the Gal Civ 2 serial in it. Doesn't show me as having purchased anything else. Yet I have a confirmation email telling me I bought DA, and that I will be notified when it's released. That's not what I wanted. I use only one email for my purchases. What happened? I have emailed your customer support and included the reference number. I hope this is not being 'mailed' to me next month. I don't rememember ever picking 'mail me the CD'.
Serial? I got a REFERENCE number only, as part of the email. Is this the same thing? When I look in my stardock account under purchased games, it shows Gal Civ 2, but DA still has the 'purchase' button on it. Shouldn't this be showing as a purchased game?
I just bought the game from stardock. I get this message: "Your pre-order for Galactic Civilizations II - Dark Avatar (Preorder) has been received. You will be notified via email when Galactic Civilizations II - Dark Avatar (Preorder) is available." I thought I was supposed to get a link to download it? Isn't everyone playing this already? Does this mean I have to wait to official release until I can play it?
Newb questions: 1) On bonus planetary tiles, it will say "building a cultural project here will give you bonus...' There is always a symbol on the tile denoting what it is. Problem is how do I match this symbol with the project that can be built? Should the symbol also be on the project? Otherwise I'm just guessing what goes with what. Unless of course there is only one cultural project to build and it has the word 'culture' in the title. Seems to be a bit of a blunder that they didn't
Another thing that has always bothered me about the tech screen, sometimes I just want to see what a tech will give me without switching to it. I would like to be able to select Galactic Warfare as my next research project, and right-click on Ion Drive to see what it will give me, without having to change my research project back to Galactic Warfare afterwards.... I agree completely. This should be in.
