Couldn't it also act as a stationary fleet? So that you could station ships 'inside' the starbase to swarm out and attack those foolish enough to invade? It would be great to have some extra defence for my mining starbases, and I think hangars sound like a great way to make that happen.

Thanks, Gauntlet - that looks to have solved the problem. Going off to start my game now...(-:
Hi Gauntlet, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. In the 'Gauntlet's Race Mod' file, there's a 'Data' file; in the 'Data' file is an xml. document 'Raceconfig', but nothing else. Should there be anything other than that? I have indeed got all of my mods in the DL folder.
Hi Gauntlet, I'd really like to use your mod, but I'm having some difficulty making it work with DA. I've downloaded it, put the files in the Gfx/races folder, and the 'Gauntlet's Race Mod' folder in the mod folder with my other mods, but when I start the game and go to the options page, the mod doesn't show up. Have you any idea as to what I might have done wrong?
Hello, I recently updated to 1.5, but in the game I'm now playing, when I go to the diplomacy screen, the other races are static. Is this a known issue? Here's my debug err: Debug Message: Version v1.5 last updated on: Thu Jan 11 13:39:19 2007 Debug Message: GalCiv2 is activated. Debug Message: Checking DX Version. Hey all, When other races surrender, do you always see the screen with their picture looking broken and beaten? Or do you only see that screen if they are surrendering to YOU? In the last game I played, three or so civilizations surrendered, but the first I saw of it was when their planets instantaneously got taken over by another race. I only saw the 'Meanwhile...' video twice, for civilizations that I destroyed...any ideas?
Ok, I've now installed the Crystal drivers from the Dell website, and the sound on my PC is still working, which is pleasing. I've gone back into the game, and am now wondering whether I'm just stupidly misunderstanding what the in-game sound SHOULD be like. So I can hear the sound in the tutorials fine; and I can hear the music on the main page fine, with the woman wailing (which amuses me muchly - Star Trek circa 1960 springs to mind...) that I TOOK to be the ingame music too. But
Thank you, again, for the quick reply! It's really great to know that you offer this level of support - which I take to be above and beyond given that the problem may well be my rather old machine. (-: I've just looked at the driver you mention, but I agree from looking at the rest of my system that it doesn't look as though my computer runs a Crystal CS4205. I'm thinking that Dell probably just used a generic AC'97 driver. The driver information for the Intel card is as follows:<br
Thank you for the quick response! I have not updated the drivers on my laptop since I bought it, roughly five years ago as you say. But unfortunately, I'm not computer literate enough to know how to update the audio drivers on my own, and since I've now moved to America, I don't have any of the original hardware install CDs with me (they're all still in England). I've tried to update the sound audio devices thorugh the control panel, but there doesn't seem a way to automatic
Hello, I just got the game and installed it, and downloaded the latest version from your website and installed that too, and am really excited to play it. However, I can't get any music while in the game. It seems that I can get sound effects, but when I move the other sliders in game to change the music volume, or the middle slider, I hear nothing. I think this is the debug report you need to help me out: Debug Message: Version v1.4x last updated on: Mon Oct 23 1
