I'll be purchasing Twilight in the next month of so. I've been scrambling for money for the last half year, but I'll FINALLY be able to complete my Galactic Civilizations II collection and play with the marvelous new tools. This will be the first game purchase I've made for half a year now. :) Oh boy, I can't wait to sit down and relax into a nice universe of conquest. It'll be a nice vacation from the rest of the things I've been dealing with.

I do hope there's a good boxed copy I can acquire without much difficulty. I already own the original and Dark Avatar, but I'd LOVE to have the nice box adorning my desk. (And I'd really rather not pay much extra for it with the economy as it is.)

By Poseidon's fist! Excellent! Since the economy is having a little trouble right now, and I'm just starting to really feel the pressure, I won't be able to purchase this right away. However, as soon as I've got a better hold on things, you can expect this to be at the top of my list of things I must get! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to finally finish off my Galactic Civilizations collection. After that, I'll be interested to see what you come up with next. :)
I think some people seriously need to re-think their priorities if they are upset about pushing the launch back a week. I think most people would agree that the currently downloadable BETA is release-quality by most standards. So anyone who is that impatient can play the game right now. Personally, I just wanted to have extra time to polish the computer AI further, make sure all the new stuff (cut scenes, music, etc.) were fitted in just right. We could definitely have relea

FYI, I haven't purchased the game yet and won't until its released, and I voted that they should delay it as long as necessary to get it as polished as possible. I know I'm going to buy it, so I'd like the product to be as nice as in can be when I do. And it's not like I don't have the time to wait. <3 Stardock. No hassles and top quality. Couldn't ask for better.

Oh baby, I'll be looking forward to this. You'll have to pardon me for not keeping up, but a few questions: I seem to remember hearing that custom races can have custom tech trees modded up, is that correct? I also seem to remember that this new expansion comes with far better scenario creation. That I can't wait for. However, will it be easier to give custom races custom dialog in this one? I might have just done it incorrectly, but when I tried to change ID numbers and incorporate cus
So here is the deal...I am a college professor and the semester is in full swing. I thought that I would have more time on weekends to work on custom race sets, but I am swamped with grading, senior research projects, etc. I haven't forgotten you guys and I still intend to fulfill requests, but for the moment, it may be some time before that happens. Perhaps over fall break, there might be time...but I won't promise.
I'm willin

It comes up for me, it just hasn't updated in a while. What's the situation Formis? Taking a vacation? Burnt out?

Check your email when you get a chance, Formis.

Unfortunately, that creates a new world of possibilities, and would require a complete overhaul of the system, which might break the game. It is an interesting prospect, though. What about a three layer universe? Might work. You ever played Star Control 3? That might give you an idea of how a 3D universe could work. I have to admit, this idea of a 3D universe worries me, but I get scared easily

I play as a custom Atlantians race and base my whole scheme on a rough neutral sea race concept. All my ships are then named after sea creatures and similar, varying from real to fictional. Examples: King Shrimp: Medium Fighter Tropical Minnow: Long-range Scout Jellyfish: Large Troop Transport Water Maiden: Trade Ship Colony Bubble: Quick Cheap Colony Seahorse: Battleship As for exceptions, I once created a ship call

Watching the battles has helped me on occasion. It makes losses which seem unexplained feel real. (When you realize they've got 30 missles and you've got barely any ECM.) Then you can scramble to churn out a new boat with tons of ECM and kung-fu grip. (And then watch the enemy get decimated and obliterated in combat and feel good about yourself.) I do wish there was more to it, and some Orion fans I know refuse to move from Orion 2 to Galactic Civ 2 due to the lack of tactical combat. P

I'll admit it, I downloaded Galactic Civ 2 illegally originally. I loved it though, and Stardock didn't give me a hard time, so I bought it. I've been VERY satisfied, and I plan to buy Dark Avatar one of these days. (Since it seems to be more than worth it, and Stardock has already gained my trust.) Good support, good design, trust, love, and hard work has made Stardock among my favorite companies recently, ratcheting them up to near-Blizzard levels. (And they've been going downhill wit
