Why not do the Seltorians? Their ships look very unique and interesting to build. Nevermind everyone loves bugs in space. :D

I just want to add my voice to the chorus of amazing and thanks. It has been a few weeks since I have played so I only have used the V1 Fed ships, but look forward to using the others. Keep up the good work and I would love to use the new tech trees.

I have not gotten far to them in the game yet myself, but noticed this as a potential problem from the tech tree. The IB I tech then branches off to Disruptors. None of the IB techs seem to have associated weapons. Why would anyone research IB II and IB III?

Arcean special building that increases your planets defense rating by 50% (essentially makes the population 1.5x the actual population for repelling an invasion). Think Hoth Ion cannon.

Roll over text of +50 defense bonus for the space cannon reads "string not found" or something similar. Just needs some text for the roll over of the red icon.

is there someway to access the tech info on your research screen, not just the diplomacy screen. I am sure I am just missing it but if some one can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Seconded. perhaps there could be some section of the library dedicated to TOA races specifically instead of just the race pictures. Not sure how that solution would work as you need to update the xml files, not over write them. Hmmm... Jason

see my post on the Korath AI developing Hyper Warp 3 as their first engine tech in a game I was playing. Very odd behavior since they appear to be wired correctly in the tech map.

I was just playing a game as the yor (great new textures btw) and found that the korath AI developed hyper warp 3 engines first then was working its way backward. Something seems screwed up there as it appears to be wired right in the tech chart for the korath

Ok Just played my first 2B game with terrans and noticed the following early in the game. 1) Harvesters can not be decomissioned or replaced with another structure (possibly by design) 2) all warp bubble techs are available at the same time, shouldn't they be sequential 3) none of the ship components are sorting by the sub categories as they did in DA. All are listed under the first category (example rail guns listed under beam etc)

ah I see. That will help thanks. Also does setting the high CPU algorithim help the AI significantly. I have a slightly older CPU with a lot of RAM (P4 1.7 w/1 GB of Rambus DRAMS) so was keeping it off not to kill the CPU, but it seems from a few things I have read around here that it really helps the AI's game play. I will definitely kick it up a few notches on the "pain chart".

I have been playing the Korx a bit and like them for their flavor. What I have been doing to modify them is knock them down to two additional trade routes and then taking max sensors, making them in to a quasi spanish armada/conquistador force. It seems to work really well. The "exploration bonus" helps in both locating good colonies allows you to keep an eye on your enemies during war.

I am a vet of the civilization line of games and always find the AI advantage annoying to say the least so I am playing at "Tough" (I think that is the setting) where it is supposedly even with the player. As for the map size anyone have a basic size to number of players list they seem to like? To me the following seems right Tiny 1 enemy Small 2 enemies Medium 3 enemies Large 6 enemies Huge or Gigantic all the enemies. That sound about right?

Hijacking with another noob question. What size map and number opponents do you guys play with typically. I have been playing normal size with me + 3, but it basically feels like I can run one of them over pretty easily and then it is just pushing on to the end game. Should I be playing on a bigger map with more enemies, and if so what do you find to be the optimum size?

I just found Gal Civ 2 about a week ago and am loving playing it, but am also really interested in seeing the new features in DA. If I pre order and download the DA Beta, can I still play the game in regular Dread Lords mode? Likewise, from a screen shot I saw, it looks like all races now have their own ship style is that correct? If so I would probably get the Beta just to see the new Korx ships.
