I took your advice and re-installed via Impulse, and everything seems to be A-ok. Thanks muchly for the help.

GalCiv 2 DL CTD on Main Menu in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

Installed the game off CD. It seemed to be running fine. Then I realised that I hadn't updated it, so I updated it via Impulse, Now I get a CTD as soon as the intro movies are over/skipped and I reach the main menu. Also, after updating, the launcher no longer appeared. According to Impulse, my Gal Civ 2 is currently on V 1.53 Debug Message: Version v1.0 last updated on: Mon Feb 6 12:52:05 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. D
