Yea themo, don't be like me either and never update. This story is too good to deserve that!
Nyame
I am currently playing on the most recent build of DL and this is only a recent problem. Every few re-loads I find I can not move my ships! Needless to say, this can ruin some of my more "delicate" manuvers. The message on my screen say that my ships are out of range of the nearest planet/star base. This is an infrequent problem, but a problem none the less, so the next time I this occurs I will post a de-bug.
On my laptop, on the bottom left side of the keyboard is a button left of the Ctrl key that spells Fn. Fn will be highlighted blue. Hold this down and then hit the Ins/PrtSc. Hope that helps After all, our laptops may be different.
HA! It'll take more than everything in the world to stop me from posting this!... Except for my computer exploding... Anyways, here's another comic AAR for you people. As for the Gumby theory, I have to say the correct question is who on Earth ISN'T related to them by now
Hope to read more.
Good idea for a tournament! Too bad I don't have DA yet...
Wow... I only had one game that epic. Most of the time I never get that many ships in my navy.
I'm back! Did you miss me? Anyways, the whole me not updating thing actually has a semi-good reason behind it. This entire spring break, I have not been anywhere near the internet. That's right, for one whole week, I wasn't anywhere near a computer. Not by choice, but it happens. In the next few comics
No comic today on account of a dry funny glad, and the huge amount of work I need to do today.
This one may contain scenes of not good things to come. This one is here because for some reason imageshack deleted the original picture. I'm glad to see people acually enjoy this
The Altarians are probably screwed.
This is for not updating yesterday. The much vaunted Altarian military is about to meet the new and improved Alpha Squad. Edit: Also, drawing those static things (you know, the stuff around the dialouge boxes) was getting annoying.
P.S. That little stunt Alpha 3 just pulled me into a three-way war with the Altarians, the Drath, and the Iconians. Ouch. There goes all my income.
Who knew I'd get so mny replies? I figured I'd have to atleast get to ten comics As requested, the plot continues (or begins, depending on how you look at it).
Thanks for the comments, I've now got three more comments than I expected!
Note: Nothing has been changed from the original game. All pilots are as stupid as shown. Thus, the story of Alpha Squad begins!
Has anyone actually tried the quasi-hotseat cheat? I use it to play with my brother a lot actually. It's actually quite fun when you want a tougher challenge without adding in AI bonuses (cheats). And yes, we routinely slaughter eachother (where would the fun be if we didn't? )
Good writting, hope to read more I especially like the excerpts at the beginings: "We watched the Drengins and Torians wrestle with each other for more than a year, all the time wondering what they would think when we came out boxing." -Admiral Roger Barlow, Lord High Admiral of the Terran Navy
"The rest is history, the Altarians surrendered to the Drath, and the to me. Both in the same turn. Like lemmings of a cliff." That once happened to me, except I was fighting the Altarians and Drengin. The Altarians surrendered to the Drengin, and then the Drengin to me! Werd how that happens sometimes
In most (all) of my games, I usually end up killing the Altarians because they usually ally with my enemies. It is a bad habit they seem to have.
You know what's funny? It seems no matter what I do, I always end up killing off the Torians first... Must be a curse or something . Anyways, thanks for the comments!
Thanks for your comment Quixen! In most games I play, the Yor ARE alot tougher than the Dregin. As in the Yor are good at backstabbing. Backstabbing me . I've learn an important thing from my first game with them: kill thm quickly or you'll regret it.
Note: This story is based on a diplomatic negotiation I had with the Dregin. This story was written for an English class for Chirstmas. Yes, I know Christmas is over. Christmas Negotiations The shuttle Impending Doom slowed its approach as the docking station. As it clicked into place above the hatch, the ambassador checked everything in the ship. Engines? Check. Computer? Check. The "Please-Don’t-Kill-Me" Gift? Check. The ambassa
Cool. I usualy do a large galaxy on normal with only a few habittable planets, but you story makes me want to play a smaller galaxy Anyways, hope to see more AARs, we REALLY need them!
Awsome story Mighty Mongoose! Your writing style was very good (instead of first-person "I did this and that" you did third-person historical accounts). All I've got to say is you finish that game pretty quickly! What settings were you using? I'm surprised I the first to comment.
