I am also having this issue. Windowblinds 8 does not seem to be high-DPI aware. I have a Macbook Pro Retina and have Windows 8.1 Pro installed on it. I tried to use Windowblinds but it is unusable - the titlebar is way to thin, the title text is cropped horizontally, window buttons are tiny, and so on. Are you going to release a fix for this issue?

It strikes me that this is a bug because it's just related to (re)starting that service. That's why I posted, to see if others get this happening as well. If people do (and anyone can test it - just stop and then start that service and see what happens) then it's a bug. If not, it's some weird problem with my system. It's not a serious issue

The Desktop Window Manger Session Manager Service is the service which manages Aero effects, and which takes the place of 'graphics acceleration' on Windows XP and earlier Windows versions. For some reason it sometimes gets switched off when I'm using Windowblinds. When I start or restart this service (for whatever reason) the Objectdock Docks I have get scrambled up and show weird artifcacts. Mousing over the Dock fixes this. It's a weird bug. I'd like to add to this. Sometimes the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service gets switched off when Windowblinds is running (usually after a reboot). Happens on both my Windows machines. I have discovered that the issue is application specific. It is Opera that is causing this, and I think one other program but more rarely so I don't know which one yet. When I start Opera for the first time, the little white indicator shows up when I DON'T start it from ObjectDock. I will email support as you suggested since they don't seem to be reading these pages.

Unfortunately the beta of Ultramon currently out (version 3) conflicts with some other stuff on my system.... but 2.7 works ok, with the Ares skin I have white text on a black background and the bar is shaded right - there is some other functionality that is lost with this skin, but it isn't very noticeable (no window preview - this is Vista I'm using, the font is slightly larger, no "button effect") and I can live with it for now....

Since upgrading to 1.5 I've noticed that my Dock icons expand/contract in a very jerky way, in fact momentarily freezing when the mouse is over one Icon only to suddenly unfreeze a moment or two later when it's over another Icon. Yes, I'm still having the problem, though I've figured out the culprit. It's a program called Actual Title Buttons (from actualtools.com), the latest version (4.2), which as it turns out conflicts with a number of programs - Yahoo Widgets, Eudora, and Objectdock among them. When I stop that program, all the problems go away. I've written to actualtools.com about it. Nope, I already tried that setting (unchecking 'reserve edge of screen'). I think there's something wrong with the layers on my desktop, that may possibly have something to do with my video card. Yahoo! widgets aren't working properly, either. Each time I try to click on one to move it the widget crashes (I can still close it and change its properties, but the widget itself freezes and won't be moved). I'm just not sure how to fix this. Aggravating.

OK, this only happens when the Z ordering is set to always on top. WHen it's normal Z-ordering, then the little piece of stolen desktop comes back after I click on an open window that's occupying it.
