Ah, here's that "Thank you, Stardock, for all you do" thread I was looking for. [e digicons]O:)[/e] I haven't posted here in a long while, but after wearing out Dread Lords from playing it so much, I broke down and bought my 55th birthday present in the way of both the expansions. As I figured, I wasn't disappointed at all. The addition of Kryo's hull mod just made me feel like Chris Matthews all over. (You know, the ol' shiver up the leg over Obama ploy)[e

Ascension.. do you think it is possible? Yep. Sure do.
"Creatures in time" is not a phrase that you will find in the Bible, but a conclusion drawn from the study of the Bible. Humans are indeed "creatures in time" in that we are locked into it and unable to break free, unlike God who is able to transcend both time and space, being the creator of both. It's merely another example of how humans cannot hope to be able to second-guess God, since it is impossible for us to understand Him, except where He has chosen to reveal Himself to us. Jus
*Sigh* If this post becomes nothing more than a contest of trying to show whos memory is best, then I'm leaving. For those who are not thinking, please try to think. Its not any fun to read stuff that isn't original. I do think that debating this subject was the objective of this post. Although most people seem to be so interested in talking about God, lets put it aside for a moment. To what limit of knowledge could an atheist phenomina
Everybody is my boss. What if you became your own boss? Your own boss at what? Typically, that means you have your own business. You think you can boss around your customers? Good luck with that! You'll soon find your coffers empty as well as your belly. You might find yourself rich one day, however, and fall under the illusion that you don't need anybody o
Just my opinion. I have no idea of the circumstances surrounding SB's demise. But, I would suggest that the original sin is not what caused him to be banned. Rather, it was a refusal to accept the authority of the moderators when they approached him for his original sin. Being faced with an unrepentant citizen, they were left with only the one alternative in order to retain their necessary authority. I don't mean to speak for the moderators, and I don't; but that is the way I would
I enjoyed Stars! for years as well. I played PBEM for several years before I finally tired of it. I'm really happy with GalCiv now. I have no wish to delve back into the time-consuming MP games. Metaverse is as busy as I wish to get these days. But, I really, really enjoyed the competition back then. I have to admit it. Overall, I believe GalCiv to be a better game. After all, you could have pretty much played Stars! with a spreadsheet when you stop and think about it.<br
Oh wow! I had completely forgotten about this show. I mean "completely". Thank you for jarring my failing memory cells.
Here we go again.... Nice, subtle irony. I have to bow to you, sir.
Egg-cellent!
Hello Kryo. First let me say how much I love the mod. I've been using it almost from day one of owning DL. I can't seem to find this answer, so I'll ask specifically. I understand this mod is not compatible with the Metaverse. It's detected as a cheat. Does this mean that the mod cannot be installed at all? Or does it simply mean that I need to uncheck the use mods checkbox in Options before starting a Metaverse game? If it actually needs to be uninstalled, wha
I will try and answer in my own inadequate way using Bible scripture as my guide. I'm going to treat your post as a serious question for now. If I'm only feeding the trolls, then I expect I'll not be back. So man will become Gods?, know all that it is possible to know, Be omnipotent, eventually? Well, lose the captial G and then you are on to some
OK. Character created is named Baslim.
Well, heck! I might as well celebrate my decrepitude rather than live in a state of denial. If you'll have me on the terms of my rather busy real life taking precedence, then I would be honored to join. Maybe I will one day be weighted down with many medals. I suppose that in order be able to submit games I will have to sacrifice Kryo's really nice jewelry mod and that other mod that allows me
Still 53. Not only am I a gamer, I'm gamee.
Here and yonder. I like to mix my sources. ABC MSNBC FOXnews Jerusalem Post BBC Never Yet Melted military.com I try to get news instead of commentary. I can make up my own mind, thank you very much.
Cosmo, from Apogee Software. That little, green space critter with suction cups for hands. He was a lot of fun back in the day. Make him a Windows-compatible game. It's still available, but it is also still a DOS game.
It depends. Books are a great. Pick a quiet corner and lose yourself in the world of your imagination. Can't be beat. For something like Dune, or LOTR, or Heinlein or Asimov; books are the best. But I also love reading history and the Bible. These are the authors and subjects that do not translate well into the limited medium of film. Movies are great, also. Just watched the new Transformers movie last night and it was non-stop action from beginning to end. The story was
At 53 I'm older than most but younger than some, a nice middle of the road place to be. My wife of 33 years is not a gamer but she does watch the whole My Space, Facebook, etc. world where our children reside and keeps us both informed as to what is happening in their world. My son is a big-time World of Warcraft player. So much so that we have to threaten him occasionally to keep him in the general vicinity of reality. He is getting better now that he has finally gotten a girlfriend
There IS a demo. I am AWARE of that.
Hey, all. Been away for a spell, beta-testing for another company and real-life keeping me away from the wonderful game that is GalCivII. I am still running DL, however, and was wondering if those of you who have made the jump to DA find the differences well worth it. How many think it is an worth while update? How many think it is a sucker's bet? I just read the blog on the massive six-week gigantic game that was posted and it sounds relatively similar to DL. (Maybe it was
So many people want a carrier in this game. It was the same way in Stars!, back in its day. There was that die-hard group that thought it could not survive without carriers. The argument made was that it provided a strategic base for those one and two man "fighters" that are created during the early game. But in my little private world where I go during game play, there are no little one-man "fighters". Early "tiny" hulls, in my mind, are at least as large or larger than today's spa
My dad stood 5'6". He had that amazing "power of observation" as well. He never forgave me for shooting up to 6 foot my freshman year of high school.
I've played multi-player 4x games. They are a lot of fun. Here is what is not fun. - Drop-out players - Angry, foul-mouthed players - Experienced players who pass themselves off as beginners - Beginners who get pissed when they don't sweep everyone the first time out of the gate - Players who spend hours finding exploits in the game system so they can "cheat" themselves to victory, using the excuse that it is the fault of the developers for having poorly programmed sec
Birthday arrived early (with permission believe it or not). I think it had more to do with them wanting their iPods ordered in time for Christmas, and since I was ordering everything for them they said " ... and you can go ahead and order your game ...". "Do you want to wrap it and wait until your birthday to open it?" No ... duh! <img src="http://images.stardock.com
