You can brive some players into attacking orther players. Certain races are better at this than others. When you are the target of such, you are at least sometimes told that the attack was at the bequest of another power but not which one. My last game I gave or sold ships and technology to the weaker side in several conflicts. The closest that I can think of for assinating leaders would be to cause a nation so many problems that they dispose the curent leader. I have only see

Ships are attacked in the order of highest attack/defense value. If you didn't have any weapons on the ship, it should have been left for last. I put that modual and a warp buble on a cargo hull and add it to my fleet. (No weapons or defenses, just the two specials and engines) It has never been hit until my other ships are gone.

I put tiny ships on planets to stop transports that sneak through. The early part of the game I use trios of smalls, one beam ship, one gun ship, and one missile ship. The mix means that my ships work well against any neighbor. It also takes advantage of the combat rules as most of my neighbors are missing one or two defense types. Later I do the same with mediums. If it comes to war. I will mix fleets together where needed to handle what the enemy has. I may even break a fleet

I found this steam of posts interesting. I learned the hard way over several early games to control the number of farms and moral improvements on a planet. I make a lot of decisions based on the bonus tiles on a planet. My base plan for most planets of 14 or less and not a capital is no farm and three moral. 14 - 17 is one farm, and 18+ is two farms. A planet of 12 or 13 with a double farm tile and a moral bonus tile will get one farm. Larger bonus farm tiles only get a farm if 14-1

I have been playing for several years and never considered military SBs. I usually avoid direct combat. My current game I have yet to be at war. I am top dog by far and have been paying others to go to war against the number two. I build a lot of economic SBs. I used to use influence ones which I quit using about the time I turned that victory off. I usually concor plannets with influence w/o the need for the bases. After the comments here, I am considering a military game next so that I can

I bought a new PC, installed GCII Gold, then installed Twilight from SDC. I had moved a game save over and it hadn't worked. I thought it was a setting problem, finished th game on the old PC and started a new game on the new PC. I was missing the upgrade to espionage, race-wide agents. I checked the manual and found that it didn't mention them. I checked the manual for other features and then against the manual on my old machine. much was missing. The file dates of the manual an
