Basentay, you're absolutely correct. Also, I think the AI on galciv is similar to the original Civilization. lol... I honestly don't think these peeps know what they're talking about. But hey..at least the AI looks at the weapons of the other empires and researches shield techs for them. =D.

Efficiency wins games. I've played on a lot "tough+" AI games, yet I lose maybe one to two ships for every 20 they lose. Why? Logistics/using larger ships with more shields&speed. The computer doesn't realize that quality of fleets&ships wins games. They're superior in technology to me b/c they have more planets, yet they crank out craptastic small ships that can be annihilated with 1-2 larger ships. I repair my larger ships, and they kill another of their small ship. etc
Yeess...I agree. Huge monster fleet please =D. The 'mega-events' turned on should be an invitation for "horrible events happen VERY often"--the type of thing that Sim City had (just kidding..Sim city random events were...very horrible...So horrible that it'd destroy my uber cities and make EVERYthing horrible...very horrible..). Hm. The mega-events should be mega...but they should NOT be be so mega as to make civ's react with a 'OMFG THERE'S A $%#^ER RIGHT BEHIND YOU, TURN AROUND TUR
Yeeees, listen to cuddlelump. He has solid ideas :x. You...must...subvert to cuddlelump's way of thinking, Stardock. GOGOGOGGO! lol.
ya, listen to alphaAsh-- he's angry too LOL.
I think the change is 100% retarded. #1 reason: I don't like nerfs :x. (Yes, I suppose you could argue that it isn't a nerf, rather a rebalancing of the 'over-abundant' bonuses--but I would heartily disagree.) #2 reason: I have a hard enough time finding a corresponding man. + res. planet to put my uber Civ.-wide man. + res. wonders on. If the bonuses are now REDUCED significantly, I'm extremely upset for the simple reason that I love UBER man. + res. planets. I ha
What if I'm on the work computer? lol..... Having an online database would be...uber.
I'm a noob and I see my borders being criss-crossed by many a ship(scout ships atm b/c I'm only 50 or so turns into a gigantic game). What good are borders? The borders show influence right? If the border is covering one of their planets, is my influence even close to turning that planet over? Is there a 3rd party website that has uber useful information such as exact (or close enough) ship sizes/equipment (could be manually scaleable w/ miniaturization), list of planet imp
lol, it's a gaming forum...not a political blog...wow lol. You guys are funny . The guy has valid points, although perhaps he should edit his post so that this thread doesn't side-track and get locked.
I think his comments are very reasonable and thought out. In MOO, I remember creating the largest galaxies I could, b/c it was fun and challenging. I had to balance expansion, military, planet growth, technology, defense and scouting. I've only played 1/10th of one game, but I see this game as 'expand to planets and do random things to kill'... It's a better game than prolly MOO3, but...moo3 wasn't very good...lol. I agree with pretty much everything the dude said.<b
Yes...I did..................................... *sigh* Is there anyway to change your races colors once the world is created?
Hey, I just resolved an issue w/ my cd key, so I DL'd the game and updated it. I started it, and the scroll bars aren't there for hardly anything (except for the game options menu, but all the adviser screens are pure black). I've DL'd the latest driver updates (which I thought I had the latest..but..) and I guess an update for Microsoft's .NET framework. I was wondering if there was a particular known issue with the scroll bars in game, that I could easily fix?
