Anyone else doing this? Add a troop module (regular or advanced) to a hull that has a colony module on it. You can still colonize a planet and your starting pop is a lot higher.

I had "Doom ships" using medium hulls with 220 of doom ray in each and no defensive capabilities. At first I created fleets of 7 Doom ships. When attacking the enemy that had large hulls, 30 shield and 160 of black hole drivers. The single enemy ship was always able to destroy all 7 ships of my fleets even if I had the first strike. Then I tried using a single "Doom ship" fighter to attack it, and guess what? I won the battles every time. I wiped out the entire enemy e
It seems to be taking forever to download and install, or it seems to want to downloadd itself twice through Stardock. Granted it is a 250MB file but what are the components in the file so I can double check it is not repeating itself? having the same issue. I sat through it downloading the file 4 times before canceling it. Each time the status meter would get all the way to 100% and then it would just start over. The program never did install. All the

When I play, if I'm in control of things, I spend a little extra time building a few extra transports, and also during that time research the soldiering techs. Neglecting the soldiering techs is a great way to wreck your war economy, too. I'll do something along those lines. When circumstances permit I'll build transports, hide them away in a far corner or deep inside my sphere and let my production planets build back up their population before I go to w
Bear in mind that the Railguns ARE from the miniball research. Unlike the later versions of mass drivers where the name of the research matches the name of the weapon.
Still down - just tried it - must be a real hassle going on Same here, been trying all morning. Isn't this always the case though? The one day I am home sick, with nothing to do...thank god there is TIVO.
I have been playing for a few months now and one thing has really started to irk me. It is the lack of options for defenders during planetary invasions. Why is it that when you invade a planet you get all these interesting options on how to attack but when you defend you get nothing? This results in pretty lopsided battles where a few million troops can take out a much larger force. I have two thoughts on this. First would be a whole set of planetary defense options. Just like the atta
This was a fun read. One thing did strike me as odd though. I noticed in the picture of the peace treaty offer that the Drengin had Advanced Trade. Why would the AI even research that particular tech branch in what was essentially a death match scenario?
