I looked in that folder but couldn't find any custom race files to remove. I did delete the raceconfigxml files but it made no difference. I've searched every folder within GC2twilightarnor and there is nothing that suggests it is a custom race file. I decided to delete the whole GC2twilightarnor folder and it fixed things. Hello, I have emailed stardock support but as they're on the Xmas break I thought I'd post here too and hope to get a reply sooner. I decided to have a game of GalCiv2 recently and unforetunately found I could not start a new game without a crash to desktop. I actually also tried to start a game around a year ago and met with the same crash, I just never followed the issue up then. The strange thing is I can open a previous save with no problems. Thanks Kryo. I managed to get it sorted before I saw your reply. I changed the preferences file to just fullscreen off and managed to get in the game. I then changed the resolution and fullscreen options in game and, hey presto, I'm able to load the game now. There's no way I could play windowed all the time so hopefully it's a permanent fix (does seem to be upon further testing). Managed to sort the impulse problem too by pure trial and error. I really should learn to work on problem

I'm getting the same stuff when trying to run Twilight or Dark Avatar. I can run Dread Lords fine.
