Just my £ 0.02. I'd like to make the distinction between multiplayer and MMO. It seems to me that multiplayer could be fun (LAN party type multiplayer), but MMO probably wouldn't be, for the reasons a lot of folks have already given. I'm (really) old school: I used to play tabletop strategy games (and I remember 1st edition D & D). One objection to multiplayer in CG2 has been "What do I do when it's your turn?" When you're face to face (or talking over those new-ish h

ES, I read the original post thinking it was something game related, but it turned out to be a bad joke. I'm fine with that--not everyone can be a writer for Johny Carson. I read the replies to see if anyone posted a good joke (no one did, oh well). A 12 year old understood the joke. No problem, I knew worse jokes when I was 12. What prompted my first post was you're response to someone who publicly pointed out that the joke was not appropriate for the minors on this forum.

I'm not sure what a "Tipper" is, but I'm content being an Eric, thank you very much. What is with people? That's a good question. First a joke is posted, where the humor involves the facts that "beech" sounds almost like that word for a female dog and "birch" looks almost like that word. Putting that word into the phrase

Think maybe someone should do something about you little one. I think that's a great idea, and I think I will. You hit the nail on the head, Night Hawk, that joke was not appropriate for this forum. (And it's a dumb joke, too.) You're well on your way to being a mature adult, so kudos to you and your parents. As you're

Well, I don't know how to help get you out of this bind you're in, but here is a way to prevent one of these situations from developing in the future. First, when the auto-upgrade starts, go to the planet screen and look at the build queue in the lower right of the screen. Highlight the first auto-upgrade, and look to the right of the words "Build Queue." There will be a triangle pointing up, an X, and a triangle pointing down. If you click the X, the selected upgrade will be cancell

I've been playing CGII for a couple of weeks now, and reading the forums for about as long, and I've got a question about what the most difficult settings are. Suicidal difficulty and Gigantic map are pretty well documented . One thing I don't understand, though, is why "abundant everything" is also used. Strategy games (for me anyway) are about making trade-offs and difficult decisions. And, being able to fin

Scripting. Add something like Lua to the system for the ultimate in modding. (I'm a coder, and I know this is a big change--that's why I put it in a GC3 thread rather than a DA thread.) There's no way the developers can do everything the players will want, but with a scripting language and by exposing the right API, someone could mod those things ( e.g. carriers, supernova weapons, etc. ) (v1m is on his own. <img src="http://

Build "busses." Create a colony ship on the planet with the highest population, launch it with 500 citizens, and send it to the planet with the lowest population. Those 500 citizens are now part of the population of that planet. Launch the colony ship, but put only 1 (one) citizen on it (can't seem to launch a colony ship with 0 (zero) citizens), send it to a high population planet, and repeat with 500 more citizens. In the early part of the game, I pick up 250 citizens from a co
