Ok i managed to resolve the problem by doing one of two things im not sure which solved it though.....firstly defaulted all the option back to the way they originally were then i turned off the show Trade routes option and also the notify me of special improvements option and started playing......3 hours and onwards and the game is still loaded up and working no problem , now if it was a problem with the graphics card overheating surely the crashes should happen more often the further you get in

Im on the verge of giving up with this game i bought it 2 days ago and it is just totally unplayable it keeps locking up the computer contantly .....i have tried everything i can think of (Baring in mind im not very technical).....i have turned off all the video options , sound options i have tried the game with patches without patches and always the same thing happens ill be playing the game then all of a sudden everything will just stop and freeze and i have to do a hard reboot.....i did previ

I tried on the control panel to view the temperature of the card but i can't find this anywhere , any ideas??

Im not at home right now so i can't check for the temperature but i will as soon as i get home....I did notice it happen with only 1 other game civilization "warlords" it does not happen with civ 4 only on the expansion pack aside from that my computer works fine with games like sims 2 , Rome total war etc thanks for the help

Im not very good with the technical side of computers so please be nice lol....I bought Galactic civilizations 2 yesterday and the game installs fine and to begin with plays fine but during the course of the game it constantly seems to freeze up and i have to completely restart the computer....i have looked up on here the problems others have had and updated by graphic card drivers but it is still occurring , i have even tried turning off all the sound in the options and
