I have GalCiv2 and both expansions on my laptop - i loved it because it was one of the few very cool games that would actually run on it since the graphics card is shit. However, since replacing my hard drive (through warranty and official toshiba channels) i haven't been able to get the game to run again. It just crashes within a couple of seconds of trying to launch it. No debug.err is generated in My Games. (in fact, nothing's in there, the folder's empty). I do have visual studio

second time around everything works fine. i uninstalled the demo whilst it was downloading, which seems to have confused sc and resulted in the missing dll. i still think it's pants and would rather a normal downloadable file, or at least that SC downloads a regular install file, but everything is working now. thanks for all the comments!

I've just bought GalCiv2 and was looking forward to a nice easy download and some gaming last night - i love the idea of being able to just download the game instead of having to try to find it in shops. But this stardock central thing is just awful. i downloaded the whole galciv2 thing (installed according to sc) and when i try to run it, i can't because of a missing dll. so i reinstall the game thinking it will probably just redownload the 140ish mb of the main game, but no, it decides to redo
