Also, this level is called "Apocalypse" this is the same old advice. It's reasonable, but it overlooks the fact that in the time required to research Warp Drive, Soldiering Bonuses, the DL are pumping out their massively powerful ships. So my question is: how do you keep the DL off you long enough to research Warp Drive (for example)? I guess I should just put the computer on Insane difficulty and let my allies carry me through. But what's the point of playing a level like

You're not the only one interested in suggestions on how to beat this level. I've tried mucking about with the difficulty levels and honestly I cannot tell the difference. The strategies I've seen in the forum here suggest things like "Focus research on Planetary Invasion & Logistics branches", but by the time I can research Enhanced Logistics the Dreadlords are already flying around with 160 attack ships, blowing up my tiny 4 attack fighters and swooping in with their troop transports

Hi, The game plays fine. But when I Quit the game (after the "A Few More Turns Wont Hurt" message) it just hangs. The application stays on the screen, but is frozen (no refresh) and does not respond to clicks. The only way out is to kill it with the Task Manager. Just a small request: I wish there were a way to tone down (fade) the background stars to make it easier to pick out small/dark colored ships in the game. The stars are a nice effect and they look pretty and all. But sometimes they overshadow actual items on the screen. -tom

I like the idea. Seeing "YourShipName413" kinda spoils the effect. There could be an option in the Shipyard to edit the list of names. And when you rename a ship, the new name gets added to the list of ship names for that class. Would make the universe a more attractive place. -tom
