Well the game was officially released on the 20'th, with a patch on the 21st. A revision to this patch was posted on the 26th. 2 business days to get a patch to (theoretically) solve all the problems that were caused with the previous patch? I can't imagine trying to defeat 10 Krogoths without very carefully moving my commander for d-gun purposes. I cant either, mainly because if you take your comm on a d-gun run against 10 Krogoths you will not survive. The death explosion is too powerful. At best, you could hope to take out one.

Like Kryo said, it is simply a random event. Although I have not played DA yet, I had a DL game, where I got the increased economic prosperity event early on, and it lasted nearly all game. Is this a good thing? No. 7 games years later the economy returned to normal, and because of the massive military buildup, all civilizations were thrown into a recession. How about adding an additional module? "Hyperspace Cores"? Or something with a similar intent. Although i have not played the DA beta, power plants have been added to planets to boost production, why not have a requirement for power cores on ships with max speed based on how many cores you have. I am not sure if this is a new idea or not, however it seems that it would make ship design and balance between speed, weapons, defense, and power, a little more complex. I would perso

Do they fleet up? Do they try things like waves of fleets to take down a starbase or real combat fleet? I have generally seen them all retreat to there home system, taking out whatever un-defended ships or stations in there way. Once they retreat and re-group, they do generally fleet up. At least in my games.

Marcathonas, I am speaking of customization that would not raise a cheat flag in the metaverse. I was inquiring as from my understanding, any change in the main game data files, raises a cheat flag in the metaverse. With the tech tree, I think that it is kind of strange that all races get the same techs mostly. I think that the races should develop in different ways and the only way of getting special techs that only other races have access to would be by stealing, spying or trading. I also like the idea of a tech that can terraform a 0 class planet into a habitable one. <

Disbanding colonies in 1.3+ sets the class to 0 so the world cannot be reused by anyone. Is this true for all planets? As I have tried this a few times with version 1.31, and it only seems to work for me on low class planets. Higher class planets will not have there class reduced to zero.

I have never seen it get to that point before, but I have seen it get close. It can get frustrating when it comes to declaring war. Personally I notice the galaxy is usually a very peaceful place until I start invading everyone. It just seems that no one is really interested in fighting in my galaxy. Anyway, in my mind total galactic peace should be rewarded with something along the lines of a medal or additional metaverse points or something. Just my $0.84.

I think what's really missing is the negative effect taxes generally have on an economy. I'm not saying to turn the game into sim city... But some kind of simple economic model could be used where taxes, morale and growth rates help determine what your tax income is. Is this not already implemented? I mean seriously, look at the tax issue.

Having to baby sit your ships to assigned rally points is exhausting. What is worst is that I cannot really pin point what causes this. Sometimes moving a rally point when a ship is heading towards it the bug occurs. The ship just stops in the middle of the space and stays there. I too would appreciate some higher resolution textures. More so for the planets, colony view and galactic view, and the ground invasion screens. Does changing the graphic files raise a cheat flag on the Metaverse? If not perhaps this could be a project the 3rd party community could take care of.

I personally do not agree with lifting the cap; however I believe it should be amended. I do think it is ridiculous to be able to see the entire map (huge galaxy size) with only 4 ships. With this being said, IMHO the limit would be more practical if it were doubled. That is, unless 15 PC was found to be optimal for reducing the bugs caused by larger sensor ranges.

Personally, I think that a great way to make starbases matter would be to allow starbases to make potshots at any ships within their sphere of influence.
