I've not played in many years now. I stopped playing shortly after ToA got released (even though I bought it too). I liked to play on very long campaigns, usually the largest map size possible. I've started to return to 4x games, but I'm reading threads about major bugs in the AI (the threads almost make it sound like a sandbox game). Is the AI really that bad that I should re-consider installing ToA onc

Thanks. I'll stick with Auto Survey then
What is the difference between these? I've read posts that Auto Explore is useless. Is this still the case?
And your not just restricted to building on these resources are you? I'm thinking starbases are going to be a big worthwhile investment in my games now I'm starting to see how much more useful they are. All I've used them for before is mining resources out in space. Edit: Nevermind, I just found the cool wiki
Does just one starbase have effect or can I pass a freighter through many starbases area of effect to stack the bonus? That's mainly what I was thinking. i.e. if the planet is in the area of effect, is it pointless to have a starbase half way down the route?
I've heard people mention trade routes and econ starbases and stuff. This is all confusing to me, I just simply send some freighters to a diff planet and hope the trade is good. can someone explain this econ starbase and trade routes thing to me. (In simple terms please? ) Hell a diagram of setting one up would be useful too.
I remember these huge beasts in GalCiv 1, what's happened to them? Are they still in GalCiv2? If not what's the biggest ship size now?
