Just want to say that Stardock ROCKS! Thanks to all the Stardockians who put in their hard work to make DA !!! I appreciate it, and so do many others, keep up the excellent work. -dtrotzjr

Another thing I forgot to mention, NEVER allow your treasury to go below -500 bc, if you do, all production stops and not until you hit green again will production start up again. It is definately not worth it to drop that low. - dtrotzjr

I start by buying up as many colonizers as I can right off the bat. I also research Impulse drive first to get faster colonizers. My economy takes a bit of a hit as I expand real fast, but I keep up with the AI as it expands so I feel its worth it. Once I get settled in my neighborhood, I begin researching for stock exchanges so I can build those as quicky as possible. I also take the last of any remaining funds to set my taxes low enough to get 100% approval and try to keep that for a

First off, it seems to make sense to me that you aren't going retail with the expansion, I mean you already know contact info for every single legitimate license of GalCiv2 sold so its not like you will have a hard time reaching the owners of the game. As far as how I feel about the online only distribution, I already pre-ordered, so that says it all. The option to have the CD mailed to me made th

I bought itm thinking it would hold me over till DA was released. I myself was not overly impressed. One thing I can say is that even though both GalCiv2 and SotS are both 4x games, they couldn't be more different. The tactical battles is where the meat seems to be at, yet the lack of clearly marked buttons and understandable objectives made the game a $40 loss for me. - dtrotzjr

They could very easily make it so that the poll uses your login and ip address making it scientific and accurate. Well actually, even if they could limit the number of votes per person its still not a very accurate nor scientific poll. It’s a known statistical problem to simply take a poll like this online where those who have the most passion f

I think Brad has made it clear time and time again why multiplayer is not in GC2. He has laid out his reasonings, and like them or not, they are what they are. Polls have shown only 1/3 of the players want MP. I myself would love to see MP in GC2 but I see Brad's reasoning and understand where he is coming from, GC2 is a great single player game because it is not a multiplayer game. What you have managed to prove here is that MP fanatics have a loud voice, but are still in the min

Specify Windows XP Professional. DO NOT USE XP HOME or XP Media Center, though I'm sure some people have no problems with it, it is harder to troubleshoot, usually. I do not understand why pushing Windows XP Professional is so important for a home user. Both Home and Professional are built on top of the same architecture. Home users who do not r

I purchased my copy from Stardock and the version I received was the Collector's Edition as pictured. From what I understand, however, the Collector's Edition updates are included in 1.2 already, so its really not a bigdeal except a box with the words Collector's Edition. -- dtrotzjr

If you want to see all your ships move but faster, you could try tweaking the Prefs.ini file in ~\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ In it there is a section... [Display] ...Having the following entries: ShipTurnSpeed=7.853982 ShipMoveSpeed=800.000000 I hope this helps. dtrotzjr

As the subject line says, it would be ideal if there was access to the map from the colony management screen, specifically to place that colony (or planet) within the universe. I expand so rapidly sometimes that I do not know where 'Hatch I' exists in the universe. This is an issue when a social event reminder pops up for an empty queue and I click it (those green globes) and I am taken directly to colony’s management screen. Well if I do not know where in the universe and more specifical
