Reply to Odyssey into Hell in AARs

Very nice. Title & intro inspired by FreeSpace or is that just me? I'm intrigued and await further installments.
The typical loud mouth posting on a web forum is a cretin. And I am willing to say, on the record, that yes, I do know more. On Neowin, when i get into debates on OS technology or whatever then yea, I do know what I'm talking about and most of the time, the person ranting is a bloody loon
Such is the curse of IT specialists the world over

I know someone who works at a company very similar to Stardock in size and product. Their running costs are more than covered by their profit margin, so there's no real chance of going under.
I turn down offers to buy Stardock several times a year.
Wow, there's no greater indicator of success than other people trying to take you over. Either they want you because you're making lotsa money, or they fear that you will be in a position to buy them

Fan...tastic AAR (and I would never have found it without all the bumping), puts mine to shame. Great plot, memorable characters and witty dialogue, I bask in your reflected glory.

Reply to Hydrogen Cars in Off-Topic
Look, Hydrogen fuel-cell cars needn't emit water-vapor. If you collect and condense that water vapor, you get distilled water. The problem is gone. Anyway, Honda is now leasing fuel-cell cars, but I don't think they have condensation systems installed...
I'm with you there, there is already research into cars with onboard electrolysers which condense the water vapour emitted from Hydrogen Fuels cells (and its more powerful, and more complex bigger brother the Hydrogen In

Just random ramblings Its nice to ramble once in a while isn't it? I sometimes think it's one guy who has many different names and goes on all forums because they seem to have the same background. That's probably true. Now, a few things about that. Stardock isn't a store. If

I wish my games were so...EPIC. I normally have either a diplomatic victory (the victory for painty waisted non-men) or an excercise in total slaughter, never do any of my wars weave like that...sigh...maybe I'm too good.

Umm, is somebody forgetting about "Homeworld"? You can pick anybody on the Sins forum and they will rip your head off for saying that, our pet hate is people comparing Sins to Homeworld since it has often been used in a derogatory fashion (which you didn't, good for you).

I had the peacekeepers once. They started to encroach on and destroy ships in my sectors so I dispatched a battleship or two. Once I'd destroyed a couple of their ships they stayed away.

Hm, this is happening a lot, the pirates of DA can get way too overpowered, I hope it gets fixed in a patch at some point. I've always found the best strategy is kill them until dead, it works trust me. War against these guys can feel like wading through syrup at times, but they can't produce any more ships so keep at it. If you have any allies, get them to help out by giving you ships, if you don't have allies, get some. I was lucky, I had battleships at the time, and

Joe Bob Dork: "Huh, there is this thing I hate in the game. It completely unbalances the game, and by far, it's the one thing that's killing the game for me." Smart Player: "Um.. turn that feature off then. That's why there are a ton of choosable options in the game, to customize the game how you want it." Joe Bob Dork: "No, I can't do that. So this game sucks." Smart Players: "...." <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_

But then the Mega Events come along to wreck the strategy aspect entirely. They were designed to spice up the game, if you're new (lets face it, how could you not be) TURN THEM OFF, it's like when someone doesn't like a TV show, CHANGE THE DAMN CHANNEL, if you don't like mega events turn...them...off, why complain about something that can be remedied with a click of a mouse. If you had a headache would you run down to the doctors and complain or

Um...if you hate the game so much, why are you even a member of the boards? If you wanna complain take it to the Gamespot forum, this is for fans of the game who deliver only constructive criticism and don't have their minds already made up as you so obviously do.

Happened to me once, it really depends on the economic state of the planet and owning empire before you conquered, therefore if the previous empire couldn't build anything, it will be carried over for you, weird I know, if you have any factories pending just buy them...that should jump start building. If that doesn't work and your playing DA, build a power station as well.

I started playing last night at around 6pm. I just finished and it's 9am here Oh my god! When do you SLEEP!? Yes, DA is fantastic, was there ever any doubt it wouldn't be? Congratulations SD! Well worth $29.95 (although in GBP its only £15.00 so...hehe, still, worth every penny)

No, just that if a ship with multiple weapons destroys one target without firing them all, it can fire the rest on another (and another, and another, until all it's weapons have been fired). So capital ships can now cut through fighter swarms with ease, rather than picking them off one per round. Ok cool! Thanks!

Ok...first things first....WOOT!!!! I am gonna get this! >dances on desk Battles take place on a per weapon basis Does that mean that the position of weapons on ships matters (a weapon will be unable to fire if there is something in the way) y'know, a firing arc...I have no feelings either way merely curious. Great job guys!

In all these years, i havn't found any games that measure up to TA in it's category. I managed to nab a disk of one of my mates, just to say, wow. I can agree with your statement, shame I have to give it back really. <TD class="mb-Body-Quote-Tex
