In my recent game, I got the Jagged Knife event. After a long war I tried to negotiate peace with them. I still wanted some low class planets in systems I controlled, so I clicked to add the planet I wanted and then clicked Peace Treaty. As soon as I clicked peace treaty, it crashed. Then I went back in and tried selecting peace treaty first, then the planet. Peace treaty went ok, but when I clicked the planet it crashed. I have only tried this with the Jagged Knife and don't know

Comments on breathing under pressure. I'm a scuba diver so I had to learn this. 1. Decompression sickness (the bends) is, as already stated, the effect of depressurizing too fast. However, there are other problems. One is nitrogen narcosis. At depths greater than 100 feet, nitrogen begins to act like a narcotic, you can get high off it. THe exact effect varies by person. Divers who go very deep often switch to a mix that replaces nitrogen with helium to avoid this. ALso, oxigen

I think you missed my point. Just by existing, the politics threads push other game-related threads off the front page. Plus, you can't always tell when a thread is political. I'd hate to end up stopping coming the the GC2 website because I can't find game related stuff on it any more.

Recently, we have been inundated with political threads. While they are posted in the off-topic thread as they should be, they appear on the recent threads section of the home page. My forum browsing time is somewhat limited so I generally stick to the recent threads. It has become very annoying to me that so much of that section is now filled with threads that have no relationship to GC2. I come here to read and talk about the game, not RW politics. While I respect the opinions of the post

Purge, When my first arrived and wouldn't go to sleep at night, I'd hold him in my lap while playing GC2 until I could put him down. I have an office chair at my computer so I'd usually swing side to side to quiet him. Congrats! I have to wait a few weeks for the next sono of the soon-to-be twins. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0 align="absmiddle"

#1 and #3 should go in the planetary bomoardment thread. They have been discussed many, many times. Option #2, however, is quite interesting. I'd add a kicker, the planet can then be colonized again by a colony ship, so leaving it in your wake could have drawbacks.

So it's not ok for mulsims to persecute other people, but it is ok for "christians" to persecute people with a different sexual orientation?

I think that in DA, neutral got even better. The reason, class 1 and 2 planets. They are ignored by the AI, but with Neutral and the frist 2 terraforming techs, you can colonize them at your leasure and instantly get a 10+ planet.

there is more... i know for a fact that as a non muslim, i am viewed as being a 'lesser' being, even by peaceful muslims. Can i marry a muslim woman? no. It is human nature to be urked at those that view you as inferior Strange, none of the many Muslims I know personally have ever treated me as a 'lesser' being. And as for the marrying a Muslim woman, as a Christian, my own scripture tells me that I should not marry a non-Christian. And, for

I've stopped using the mega events. Although I like the concept, and even the events, they tend to happen to me not to shake up a game I'm winning, but to but me in an untenable position early in the game. For instance: Pirates event in the first two years. There were dozens of super powerful pirates at a time when no-one had more that a 2 attack small hull. It was many, many turns before the game could proceed. The disease event in a game where I had been forced to

Captain Yar, does is the barren world icon still in red. IF so you cannot build anything. I have had this happen when I culture flip a world I don't have the colonization tech for. Only when I get the tech can I build. I never play the Yor so I haven't seen the ability to colonize the planet.

I've had this happen when I upgrade the stock constructor. However, after it happened, I designed a new ship with the constructor template and it appears fine. I'll try to post the debug.err tonight.

Forgot to add, allow constructors to add modules increasing the HP of starbases. Also, allow ship modules increasing hitpoints (Attach these to the hull techs. That way there could be new ship components for the "spacer" techs in the hull tree. Also, change the mining barracks from 4% to 5%, since everything else is 5%.

I don't know if this is too major for a patch, but what I'd like is this: For non-mining starbases, do not seperate into economy, infulence or military. Have just one generic type of starbase and the player can choose how to develop it. For instance, there may be some economy modules, a few ship assist modules and an influence module or two on the same starbase. To prevent exploits, make a hard cap of 25 modules (or so) on the starbase, so the player has to make some choices. <br

Why put them in a colont ship? I load them into transports and guard the transports until I'm ready to use them.

In my current game, I have several ship designs with movement in the 8-16 range (with hyperwarp engines. I have had some of these ships randomly have their movement reduced to 3 per turn, as though they had no engines installed. This persists even when I upgrade them to a different design. Then, some of these ships, several turns later, revert to the correct movement. There seems to be nothing I can do to make this happen. Has anyone else seen this?

My experiance in my first game was the opposite. My small and medium ships were getting slaughtered in job lots. It was only when I got my large hull ships into battle that I was able to push the Korath back. There is however, a problem for the AI (I've noticed that it's more than just the Korath that do this), they seem to tend to put no engines on the ships, so they are extremely slow, and very easy to maneouver around. This gives the human player plenty of time to counter them.

Here's an idea to correct the tech trade issue. You select a tech you want to trade and the AI proposes a tech it has that it will trade with you. You only see the techs it shows you, not all it has.

In my experience, RTS games put a premium on resource management. The key to winning, as galenevil pointed out, is delivering the most troops to battle. To do this, you must spend a lot of time organizing your workers to harvest the resources efficiently on order to be able to produce the required troops.

As for feeling guilty that it's "too easy", there is one major downside to using spore ships. Hit too many planets at once and your economy is basically dead. You get a whole lot of maintenance expenses and no revenue for a long time.
