When I first loaded this page and saw Xbox live on the front I got my hopes up that hell froze over and GalCiv2 was coming to Live, sadly that feeling only lasted a mere fraction of a second. On the article however, thats great news. It's hard to break into the game industry and start from the bottem. This game was going to pass under my rader this year however I might actually check it out since it is causing some buzz.

I'm sure they are well on their way to milk the franchise with hopefully another awsome expansion pack or better yet, a sequel somewhere down the line. GC2:DA = Galactic Crack 2: Dark Addiction side note I saw this review on TV where G4 has the little chat thingy in the bottem of the screen and it was kinda sad to see some of the responses to the question "What's the Best Civ-type game you played?" Aside from Civilization1,2,3,4 everyone basically stated a bunch of RTS gam

Then I saw this Other changes to the game include alterations with the political treaty system, tweaked technology trees, and the addition of ground forces. I agree, it's been my biggest gripe about this game on how once the computer allies with someone, it does everything but bend over for them. You can even treat the AI like an abuse spouse and they still keep coming back for more. It would be nice if the AI made alliances to trick the player into a false sense of security and then broke the alliance. Ex. You are allied with one nation and then the strongest nation offers to ally itself with you. Then it goes to war with

I want all the weak gameplay changes that make the game longer changed back. Considering my major complaint about the game was that the game would become less fun after the colonizing and the first major conflict (cause thats when the superpowers emerge and it's clear who's going to win). The more changes they add to slow down the gameplay

The best thing about the Wii is that it opens the door for logitech to make a motion sensor mouse and hopefully more games where mouse movements translates into different moves or abilities. Similar to how the rumble feature is now in almost every gaming device (yay for force feedback).

FYI, you can get a galaxy with more strategic features (insomuch as is currently possible, anyway) by playing on big maps with tight clusters and normal or lower star-count. This should create large voids that cannot be crossed without building starbases to extend your range through the empty expanses. Omg! I never even thought of that, thanks.

I never played campaign mode. With RTS games and strategy games I always either play multiplayer or the sandbox game. Campaigns always limit me either build wise or tech wise anyways and I bought the game to check out all the features. Probably havent played a campaign mode since Warcraft2 Tides of Darkness.

Even if publishers are pushed to make games just for the consoles, it's still pretty dumb to not release games on the PC (a market is a market). The other thing to keep in mind is the fact that most console games and PC games usually appeal to the lowest common denominator which is why I usually try to find good mods for games on the PC. Also PC online gaming has had a head start on consoles for nearly 15 years. Why would I want to play 32player halo when I could play 64player Forgotton Hope

If the system is going to be $500 -$600 I might as well just upgrade my computer.

Build troop transports and send those lazy bums to war or better yet, build colony ships and fill them up then delete them for some cash. The less people on a planet, the better the moral. With a high moral on the colony it should never revolt. You can also put in that police center wonder that will make your citizens even more loyal.

I had that bug before with 1.2 but not yet with 1.3. Don't know what causes it but you can just quicksave and come back and it'll allow you to make a name. I also found a naming bug. Say the name of a ship design is Crusader. Then I name that ship Crusader when I make it. Once I upgrade the ship, it changes it's name to the new class I upgraded it to, so instead of the name "Crusader" it changes to the new class name (like Melborne, without the numbers after it). A

I'm hoping that Diplomacy will be improved also. The current system is sketchy, but there's a lot of potential there. I know, it seems that once you get alliance tech, you've already pretty much won the game since your allies give you everything you want and almost never break the alliangence.

You do understand that once the MP fans got thier way, they would just get owned by the people that have no outside lives and then those people will be the only ones playing this game online anymore. Online Arena = Only the strong survive (or if you are an optimist, "Fortune Favors the Bold")

Totally Kickass. Kudos on the race logo, now I might have more incentive of creating my own logo.

Exactly, it's all just a parody on how the "USS Enterprise" in ST:TNG was the 'flagship' for the Federation. Also, if you play the Terran Alliance in GalCiv2, you'll notice how their 'flagship' looks like the USS Enterprise I always rename my Flagship Enterprise if I upgrade it. Which is only if it gets experience anomalies. <br

I have CivIV and I never played it online. The reason being that I like my games to be long and go a certain way. Thats usually impossible in an online arena since it would be very hard to get the same people everyday to sit down and play with you. I'm more into empire building with real diplomacy then zerg rushing and pre-determined teams of 4vs4 or whatever which is usually what goes into multiplayer. <table cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgcolor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote

Yeah from these screenshots here http://media.pc.gamespy.com/media/837/837041/imgs_1.html Is it a freighter/constructor with a silly name or a whole new class of ship?

I had something likat happen a couple of times in 1.1x Found that if I went to the save game screen and back out, then I got my button back, temporarily anyway. Hasn't happened since 1.2 Everytime it happens to me, thats exactly what I do. I have seen this happen in 1.2 and 1.3, it usually happens when I'm looking at an enemy fleet just when the
