First, I make the basic ship design using jewelry and when I'm pleased with it I come up with some name that fits the model of the ship, like 'Wasp' for a fighter or 'Goliath' for a huge-hull battleship. The initial design with no parts is called "Core (name here)", then I designate upgraded models of it using the mark system. So "Wasp MkII" is the second version of the design.

Well, I've found a small graphical glitch. I tend to play as the Yor ("Thank you, carbon-based ally."), and I noiced that the news announcer robot guy for the Yor has a small graphical glitch for me. His chest has a glowing lava-grid thing in the center, but when he moves, it stays still and clips. Nothing serious, just a minor graphical glitch. Here's a screen shot: Link
I don't have any spectacular battleships right now, but I really like how my colony ship came out:
Yeah, the key would be to make tactical battles, well, tactical, not micro-manage fests. Your idea sounds good.
We've discovered a precursor factory that could be used to increase production. The problem is, anyone who enters will die from mysterious causes. What do propose? Good: Keep our men out of there. (No change) Neutral: Send in only volenteers (4% bomus to production) Evil: How many times do I have to tell you? People are a RENEWABLE resource! (8% bonus) You just gotta love the evil point of view.
I'd rather tactical battles be more dealing with formations and strategy. Like deploying with your battleships in the center with your fighters going ahead to distract the enemy. Of course, the current auto focused fire system would have to go away for this to work.
I had gotten something like that too. The Yor were losing a war I wanted them to win, so I gave them some techs and a fighter. It was a small-size ship with three moves and 6 laser attack, but they never moved it. When I gave them a medium-class ship, they used it in their war.
Well, I've just won my first game in GalCiv. It was diplomatic, but only after I had to wipe out two factions. anyways, I couldn't have done itn without your help. Thanks to all of you!
Well, I'm a newbie to this game, and I've run into a wall: I can't seem to figure out how to make money. It seems like no matter what I do, I'm bleeding money. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
