Renfl, I'm looking forward to seeing this too! And we're still working on the Star Wars mod . Hopefully we'll get some ships out soon. I'm interested in getting the ST ships. Once we get the SW mod done, it might be interesting to make a balanced ST vs SW mod .

Something fishy going on with latest beta when upgrading ships. The game screen informs that it takes "a week" to complete upgrade even if the upgrade is finished alrdy. The reacently upgraded fleet still has the "upgrade : a week" message on it and also the upgrading icon over it. Even so I can move the ships after which the correct upgraded names appear on ship na

Who shoots from 15k away? All space combat I've seen and heard of has been no more than a couple of klicks away! At which point speed and size is still a factor. I'd like to see smaller ships have a better defense rating against larger ships, due to their size. I doubt this will happen, however, since you can arm a fighter with the same weapons you can arm a battleship.

I had the same issue. Near the end of a Gigantic game, and I couldn't save. Luckily, only lost 5 turns thanks to auto save. Nice feature, btw . I love big fleets, and I love big maps.

I would want to use it to make something only available to core ships. It was also an idea that, unfortunatly, cannot be finished to to the game coding, would have hopefully made starfighters more useful near the end game, as I wanted to add a defense against certain weapons built into the hull. But it will only work for core designs.

Is it possible? What I'm looking to do is something similar to the speed ability attached to every hull that gives it a base speed in game. Is there a way to do that for defenses? Or is it possible to attach components to hulls, instead of designs? Rasori has helped me, and we've not been able to find a way.

Okay, so the long walks on teh beach thing is optional. The Star Wars Mod Team is looking for a 3D modeller willing to help us get or build models of a number of vessels from the star wars universe. SO far, none of our team has no exprience, and with some of the fantastic models we've seen here in these forums, we feel it would add so much more to our mod to have actual hulls, insteard of ships built with jewelry. I'll make a post about this... I kind of like the idea of a free choice universe. But, you can only pick one linme of ships. One thing Rasori and I have talked a bit about was having a line of tech for each of the major factions, each one unlocks their ships. So you can only pick one type, as the others would be useless, and it would slow your research down to research all for. Then, at the end of each ship tech line, there would be one that gives access to all hulls. A

Well, for planetary invasions, we've got starfighter strafing runs, a strike team, and planetary bombardment (probably already in the original game, but I've never researched that far down this line). As to working out a Death Star type object, I dunno how to incorporate it and I'm not sure I'd want too. Maybe the Death Star could just be a wonder you build, and that planet gets +25 tiles to build on? I don't know about having seperate tech trees. Over all, most races use the same

You're right, we probably won't be able to follow the canon exactly. Partially why I have the engines named for sublight instead of hyperdrives in the SW universe, which woul just be classes (.5 class for the falcon Class 1 or 2 for capital ships, etc). Actual races would play a role still. The only factions that would be races would be the rebels, republic, Empire, CIs, or whichever we choose. Not sure on the size of the weapons. IF a fighter weapon is 10 (Just for ease of math) then the equivalent capital could be anywhere from 18-22 is my estimation. With out testing, hard to say. The major and minor races are going to have to include the factions as well. I like the idea of using the shipyards as the choices for your ships, the only problem there is the rebels had a bit of everything.
