[quote]if we ever have the ability to effectively colonize planets not in our solar system we probably wont have wars. Wars are caused by pressure for resources if every group has thier own planets it kind of negates the need to fight over stuff. You're joking, right? Please tell me your not that naive.Lets start with the various Crusades, Jihads, purges, and other stupidity "in the name of God!" Then lets move on to the fact that its easier to take the infrastructure and wealth from someone e

Hi guys. I just bought a new comp and for some wierd reason I can't enter with my stardock account I got a faild to update account info massege! So i can't redownlaod the game! i've been reduced to mumbling about the game instead of playing it I enter my e-mail address and my password (the correct ones) so i'm officially clueless. Thanks in advance Warder
Thanks for the reply. I'll try it.
I just ought a new comp cause my last one just died. Of some reason stardock won't aknowledge my game serial number or my own stardock account. What to do?
On another note, I think that we should change the name fomr fighters to gunboats since it's a more fitting name. Main problem with gunboats in galciv is that curently they don't have any advantage on regular shups of the line. In each popular sci-fi novel out there fighters\gunboats are used to out menuvere the enemy and cripple some importante objective before the capital ships start to slug it out. I agree about Carriers being in GalCiv 3. I would like to think about carriers being more like DW LAC carriers than fighter carriers, since the LAC (Light-Attack-Craft) and the regular warships move in the same medium. That is all depend on the idea behind GalCiv warfare phelosephies and how the game would be played. All in all, I would love to see some sort of strategic carrier in galciv2 just to load my tiny fighters and keep them with the rest of the fleet, I
Ahaha! I have read it befor you posted about it! i'm uber! (sorry just loged off from WoW) Anyway, great sneak peak, I'm really excited about the astroid fields the new espionage system and the "diffrent planets for doffrent races" thing. I would really like to see more refined combat (space and ground) in the essence of fighters and carriers and building ground forces (and the ability to "preprograne" your forces woth tactics and such. All in all, i'm really looking toward it, when wil
I was thinking of a limited tactical combat as well but would take it a bit further. Most people who are gasindt tactical combat say it would be either too long to play or that the AI could not be challenging. I would propse the following: Add a tech in the tech tree called War College or Tactical Command. Once that has been researched, add tactical battle planning modu
Hi guys. I'm trying to get the Derngrin world using influance, as of this moment I manajed to take 3 using 5 influance bases maxed up my only problem is that the derngrin got way more military power than me and I can't catch up with them, the only reason that they don't attack me is that I maxed my dimplomacy skills. Another point, i'm trying to forge alliance (for the first time) how do I do this? what should I do? do I need high military power?
Actually, I tend to run straight to Eye of the Galaxy, its one of the best super projects in the game IMHO.
It's highly unlikely, but I've seen planets with two 700% mines, so two 700% libraries doesn't seem that rediculous. Two 700% mines are a nightmare at the start of the game, but when you are well astablished two 700% mines with a manufactering capital is scarry. I once built torpedo frigates with warp drives 1 in each turn, we
Well, on big maps having 4 survey ships can be a real life saver, it actually allow me to build colonies faster than any other cib\vilization (mind you, i'm playing on tought right now though). Is it just me or the AI is much easier since 1.2? I used to be under attack by 2228 in most of my games and the AI was usually stronger than I.
Just get sensors 5 as fast as you can and build "Eyes of the galaxy"(????) it practically give all you ships an 8 sensor radius (including traders) No enemy ship can slip by when each of you ships got a sensor range that big.
Hi all! Do you build scoutships early on? I have came to the cunclusion that it's more effective to research survey module and build fast survey ships with the cargo hull.... What do you think?
I would rather have the ability to train my crews in certain tactics befor the battle and get on option to chose woch tactic to use than to have pure tactical combat option.... Just my 2 cents
