One other thing you might check... Once my AV software quarantined MS Works, seeing it as malware. It didn't work again until I restored it.

I would give you karma but all I seem to have lying around is poetic justice... bummer...
You might be able to do it using Virtualbox and an old copy of WinXP, running your old games in a window.
I found a way to do it (in Win7), but it's a pain (and come to think of it there has to be a better way): Go to Control Panels > Display > Change Resolution to the desired resolution Click on "Advanced Settings" This should open another control panel with a some tabs. Choose the Intel(R) Graphics and Media Control Panel Under "scaling" choose "maintain aspect ratio" The problem with this is you'd have to do this each time you wanted
I think that you are talking about playing in non-widescreen resolutions (i.e. 1024x768) in games that don't support widescreen. In other words, if you want to play in a smaller resolution without the picture stretching out and looking blurry, you have to change the setting using your video driver control panel. In the NVidia control panel you go to Display > Adjust desktop size and position and then apply "no scaling" under the scaling tab. (You could also choose Aspect Ratio, but the

I actually like Civ V as well. I've played it far more than anything else on Steam--400 hours plus... It's not Civ 4.5, which is not all bad, because there are some things I like better (maybe some of the same things that others hate). I think Civ V is less tedious and more fun in warfare. I like the 1UPT and the auto-embarking units (instead of having to build and load transports). There are some things that I miss from Civ IV, like tech trading, vassal states, the Apos
Civ V Panzer Corps Imperialism II - I just bought this (again) and it's one of the best strategy games ever
Quoting heft, reply 13Glad good pun.
Not my original thought. Some others on the forum seemed to think the name came from trash bags. But it's actually far more obscure.
Either SimCity 4 or Civilization IV for me
Take a look at this link for some good advice: http://www.jeffpinard.com/dark_avatar_general_tip_and_help.htm It's for Dark Avatar, but the concepts are good for any version of GalCiv.
Portal (the original) is free on Steam until September 20th. Here is the link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/400/ I found this out by accident. I hope somebody else is pleasantly surprised as I was. I had never played it before. It's a great game.
The two that stayed on my hard drive and were played the longest... SimCity 2000 Civilization II
So this is what death feels like... I must say I'm somewhat disappointed...
Any news on when we might expect an update?
Just make sure it's not a used copy as the key is non-transferable.
Thanks for the info. I'll definitely use it with my son.
Play the demo. Me, I happen to think Civ 5 still needs a lot of work both technically and from the game play side. TBH, Civ 3 is better IMHO. Civ 4 BTS even better than that. Save your money.
It depends on what you like. IMO Civ 4 BTS and Civ 3 are great games in their own right, but I like Civ 5 for different reasons. Part of what excited me about this game is that the dev was a fan of Panzer General, and some of the features
Update: I decided to go ahead and buy Civ 5. It runs on my machine just fine--in DX9 mode. DX11 mode seems to drag a lot more.

Deja vu? I'm thinking of with vanilla.
I would give you karma but I don't want to.
