Number of people who clearly state that they like a BILLION planets for "teh ez moed": 2 (PS: One of them is you). Number of people who clearly state that they like more space: 8.
Add me to the list of people who would like to have a game with 5000 possibly habitable planets. I love building and running gigantic empires. As an old Star Fleet Battles and Battletech player, the combat in this game simply doesn't hold my attention. This game has very good exploration and
I just can't agree or even begin to stand your point of view on this on those grounds.
I'm afraid that your point seems a bit childish. You seem to be saying that 'your way of winning is not in my playbook so it must be cheating.' The background of the Terrans, Korx and the Krynn all clearly indicate that their preferred method of domination are Diplomacy, Trade and Influence (I forget who the Technology specific race is off the top of my head.) All of these ar
Uh, yeah, and you can't always get it. The United States has nuclear weapons, guess how many countries want those? What about F-22s, AIM-120s, even supercarriers? Our space program? In GC2, you just hurl money at a minor race, and you can have whatever you want. Damn near any technology the AI has can be acquired, no matter how ridiculously valuable it is. Weather control centers? If I were the Arceans I'd never let that go, even to my allies, not without payment in the form of a

I feel like I need to say thet there are some players who enjoy tech trading quite a bit like myself. I campaigned against the earlier trading nerfs (successfully I might add.) Whether you like tech trading or not depends entirely on your style of play. I have been an active player and beta tester for a long time and I do not participate in the metaverse. I tend to like empire building and management above all. If I can play and win a game without ever declaring war, so much the better

The planetary improvement screen is getting really crowded, especially if you engage in tech trading. The problem here has become worse with paralell techs that go toward the same thing. I can have slave pits, collectives, and standard factories on the same screen. I love the ability to collect techs, but it is becomming a bit overwhealming. Now, I would like suggest an alternate way to manage planetary improvement techs. I would like the ability to right click an improvement and move it to

Has the bug where upgrading a standardized ship been addressed yet? I've just stopped trying to upgrade standard ship and start from scratch. Unfortunately, I have been trying to play as each of the races, and I sometimes forget and about half of the time, the game crashes. Scincerely, [email protected]

I always make evil choices durring the colonization phase and then pick neutral after all the planets get colonized. I used to play good as a rule but as has been pointed out in many other places, there are no bonuses that matter for being good. The "great defensive techs" are eventually replaced by more effective techs later in the game, and if you get them early, they are too expensive to use. I still don't like playing evil, but I just got tired of being penalized for being good! Sci

I started a game as humans and renamed their empire Space Monkeys and their leader Bobo just because I was in a wierd mood. I have since started a new game as the Krynn and I just ran into Emporer Bobo of the Space Monkeys! Is it supposed to do this? Scincerely, [email protected]

I would really love a regular series of expansions. Even if I did not love every one, I would probably buy them all (love tactical combat, hate multiplayer but would buy them both.) I would even love to see minimum effort expansions like MOD packs and scenario packs filled with player generated MODs and scenarios. packs like this would keep the game fresh, and on the radar of the gaming sites until the next release is ready. The only downside that I can see from this is someone will eventually a

Gosh, Scintor, what difficulty level are you playing? I prefer to play on a level playing field, so I stay away from the higher levels where the AIs get considerable bonuses. I also play exclusively in gigantic, abundant everything galaxies. Most games take 100+ hours of playing time to finish. I realize that most players would not enjoy the play style that I like, but I really enjoy the fact that the game supports a large number of playstyles.

I use ctrl-N because otherwise it is an undocumented change to the challenge rating of the game. If you are against one side of the map you have only half the rescources and worlds within effective range than if you start in the middle of the map. If you are in a corner the rescources drop to one quarter. So, if you don't mind giving your opponents a 2-4 times as many avalable worlds and resources as you have; Never restart your position. Personally I think that this is an undocumented (and

Boy, I play a different style than you guys. I love just manage large empires and will often disable influence victories just because I they end the game just as I am really starting to enjoy it. I enjoy creating a balanced and vibrant economy and find crushing other civs under my heels to be annoying and wasteful. Frequently 80% of my game is after I could have easily won. Reply to Spies in Strategies

(Repost fron DA forum) While I am not a big fan of the current DA spy system, I have figured out a few tips and tricks to make it usefull. Under the Dread Lords spy system you just set your sliders on the first notch as early as possible and forgot about them. The Dark Avatar system is obviously very different. On the other hand it is not as obvious how to use it in a efficient manner. Others have discussed what to target to use spies offensively, but I am going to concentrait

I've never gone wrong by researching the cheepest techs first. Prioritize with propultion, production and influence first and military techs last. If you research a broad base of cheap techs, you can always trade for better techs that someone else has first, and they are always there if you need cash. Scincerely, Scintor

Well, after reading through all these posts I will add my 2 cents in. Things that I have seen that I would like to see implemented. 1. Better UP/Diplomacy. 2. Space Monsters. 3. More tactical space combat/ground combat. If done well enough this could easily be enough for me to be willing to pay $30-50 for this alone. 4. Respawning anomolies/ anomolies that can only be explored with higher sensor levels. 5. More teraforming options (as you gain the abilitiy to c

Quote one: "Abandonment: A random civilization evacuates the galaxy. All colonies are destroyed and all ships disappear, leaving a new colony rush for these worlds." Quote two: "Bad idea. I'm sure its cheap for a mega-event to have the possibility to outright destroy a civilization that could be the largest and most powerful." The whole idea I had for abandonment was for an alternative to surrender. Right now, when a civ is eliminated they surre

I would like to see a shift in loyalties event. Treason in your political party causes it to collapse any forces you to pick a new political party. I also like the space monster/megaship event. A double agent event. All spies deployed in any other civ (including yours) defect to that civ. A radical scientific breakthrough. A div that is far behind in tech all the sudden gains an entire tech tree or an isolated high level tech. Revolution fever! 10% of all worl

I have started playing Beta 5 and the rediculous ratio has been scaled back. I don't know if it was a mistake or they changed their minds, but the result has been the cash ratio has been put to something more reasonable. Thank you to all the developers for this. Scincerely, [email protected]
