I'd also be looking for a renegade program that "tweaked" one of your video settings. Otherwise, had any power surges, lightning hits nearby? You could heading toward hardware hell. (Been there with the lightning/powersurge slow death issues twice)
Well, i've spent a fortune on my computer and this game crashes constantly and yes I've bitched about it before. btw, i do program and i have built computers so i'll turn that wagging finger back around. Something is amiss in the coding to cause the video card to heat so dramatically even when all the high-end graphics options are turned off. I'm running my game at the lowest possible settings and still get crashes. I never had a problem with DL running at the highest possible settings. So, no;i
I got no bonus tiles on a huge map; I like them.
Even with the problems-- it is worth the effort!!
Nope. XP. Makes no sense to me that GCII:DA would behave so when far more graphic intense stuff works fine. Some folks have suggested that I put another fan in my case to cool my graphics card. If I have to do that to get a game to work, then I need another game! Why would textures cause my graphics card to melt down? Hmmm. No such problem with any other game including Dread Lords, Fear, and Darkstar One. This is a problem. So you get an 80. All patches installed, etc. I am not an idiot.
After two major computer malfunctions, I am finally near finishing the campaign. Great job with the game guys. I played my first computer game (pong) on the original atari so I've been at gaming a long time. Played most of them. This game ranks as one of the best ever-- and one of the things that makes it that way is the game's ability to be reinstalled and run without a disk-- thanks! For all of us who do get lightning hit, etc. this game is a godsend. (As a side note, I've spent over a month t
