Not one single person on the forums has posted on Coach Schembechler's passing. He was a great man, and increadable coach. I'm not a Michingander; I'm Sooner born, and Sooner bred, and when I die, I'm Sooner dead. He will be missed. j /

A great coach, and a great man. He will be missed.
And if so, will beta affect 1.4 gameplay in any way?
What is the miniature horse's name?
I wouldn't mind seeing my arch-enemy getting their *ss handed to them once in awhile. But why not simple text messages, such as 'Drengin fleet #x defeated Torian fleet #x? Or messages about attempted planetary invasions? Right now there is no way to know if warring factions are actually DOING anything, other than making the 'stink-eye' at each other. having such a feature
Sorry for late answer; injured. Hunting and pecking now. Thalans have +47% defense, at this point, would still require 22 ultimate invulnerability, at 140bc, 3080bc for defense. Other attributes are +39% offense, +110% mini. At first glance, this seems believable, but given medium hull, and stage of construction, (little more than halfway), not sure.
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is the name of a set of British qualifications, taken by secondary school students, at age of 14-16 in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.
You are more than welcome, Ungerdog. Glad to be of help.
Here is the original post from the composer, Mason Fischer: The vocalists name is Toni Burdey. She is a wonderful talent! When I worked with her to add the lyrics to the melodies I composed for the intro movie, it was more important that the lyrics matched the existing melodies and were "singable." We took MANY liberties with the phrases to make them work musically. So, the lyrics are short Latin phrases that are somewhat organized as far as meaning and con
Found my answer. NOT A BUG All about the $$. Loaded savegame, found a dreadnought of theirs, looked closely; 238 shield defense! Also found cruiser- same type as was being built-279 shield defense!! The cost of the shields alone was more than my entire dreadnought. My fault- neglected to account for the AI's intermittant insanity. Thank you all for your input
Your answer is here WWW Link post#8
Yes, Scintor, the lyrics are posted, I can't remember where- will search around and get back to you. They are in Latin (of a sort)
I have played some excellent xpacs, but can't recall one being given the ultimate review. Anyone?
Was your espionage high enough to look at the planet prior to invasion Yes, certainly. I find this to be an invaluable tool, and raise my level to max as soon as I can afford it. My custom race has this ability bumped up a bit, so I can scout out potential targets, (and problems) ASAP. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF39
Thanks for the info, guys. This is an interesting feature that I will investigate further. However... in order for your explanations to be correct, then the Thalans would have to have been building a considerably larger ship than the ones I chose to build, and, said ships would have to have been within 1 turn (or so) of completion. The ships being built on these planets were both smaller than mine, as well as being roughly halfway through construction. My ships were all Dreadnaughts- true behem
Sorry about the double post- I must have inadvertently bumped the wrong key before I had finished. Please feel free to delete the other post. Mistralok
I have been playing a game and have noticed some very odd behaviors in 1.4. After a rush of building freighters, I saw that I had built 2 too many for the allowed number of routes. I upgraded them to custom constructors, and sent them home, (They were some distance away), and promptly forgot about them. When next I saw them, they had entered into an existing trade route, in mini form! They travel back and forth, sharing the route with the freighter originally assi
Does the way I vote in the UP affect my relationships with the other races? Anybody?
Don't be sad, my friend. I thought your post was insightful and clearly stated. I just can't think of a way to implement your idea without major changes to the current game model. Attacking another race's property is an act of war. Period. The only way around this is for the injured party not to know who injured them .
Another way to document any problems you are having is to download 'SmartException' from Stardock. (free) Let it run while you play. When the game crashes, it will record the facts. Follow the instructions on the screen, and e-mail to Stardock. Easier for you, but will take a bit more time. The quickest way would still be to post the debug.err, as many of us here have become rather adept at reading them, and you will have an answer much sooner. GC is a pretty stable program, all in all, so I c
I like that idea, Tertullian. The ability to actually influence a vote would indeed add 'spice'. Your solution should be fairly easy to implement, I should think. Just add it to the trading screen, with the trade goods, perhaps. 'Vote for', or 'Vote against' the proposal.
Does the way I vote in the UP affect my relationships with the other races? I have not noticed any real cause and effect in this area, though the affect itself could be so subtile as not to be easily recognized. If the answer to my original question is no, then I believe that this is something that should be looked at more closely. If, for example, I am trying to get to close relations with a certain race, perhaps supporting their position in the UP would be just the thing to put them over the
I agree with you on this matter. In DA, espionage is being expanded, even to the point of sabotaging planetary improvements. I would like to see it expanded even further, with the ability to sabotage starbases. It would, indeed, be useful to be able to remove a particularly irritating base without the AI knowing just who did it.
Great news, Wheeloffire, glad that I could have been of some small assistance.
Hello, Wheeloffire. I also had a little difficulty at first uploading, until I realized that the system will only accept images with a size no larger than 50x50 pixels. If you are using XP, just right-click on the image you want and chose edit. This should send it to Microsoft Paint. There you can play around with the numbers and change it to the correct size. If this is the cause of your problem, there will be an error message stating this when to trying to upload. Note to Stardock: The color
