Crazael, nice try, but yr 3 points r shot down in flames. i really don't care what you choose, being evil fits my style of play better, and i usually get the Terraforming tech before i research Good or Evil.

I would prefer to put my time into enhancing the diplomacy options the one thing i'd like to have is the ability to demand that my almost defeated enemies surrender to me

Instead of having to buy ONE Warp engine, I want the ability to buy 2 or 3 engines that do the same thing. uhh... you can, all my ships have at least 2 engines, my bigger one's get for or five

i choose evil for three reasons: 1. the free starbase modules 2. the bonus 'trade tax' 3. the bonus weapon techs the only thing neutral has going for it is the extra research bonus, and good is just lame, i don't even research defensive techs

And the majority of the ex-moo2 players on this board are these kind of bunker noobs who always reach these stages. (Well phasing cloak-time warp exploit is most popular prolly since these techs are bugged.) "bunker noob'? don't believe i've ever heard of that one... and i never used phasing cloak, it was too cheep, i used sub-space teleporter

Incidentally, I have seen a binary star system or two. really? i din't know it would even do that, of course i never considered it either

...but beyond that, what makes a person buy one game over another? It's the game's ability to distinguish itself. That's all I am saying. and Soulcatcher and Alfb are saying that those things are somewhat less important from a development standpoint, there are alot of games out there that look amazing, but don't play well and so never get sold

the only thing that made Birth Of The Federation good was the way they did political/military borders, no one could send ships into your territory without an alliance or act of war (except the borg, who go where ever they like)

I just find continually having to redirect the ship during exploration tedious. thats what the auto-explore command is for, the only problem is the AI for it is really bad, ships tend to follow eachother around which does help you find new planets very well

i think you're just overly impatient, my computer is slower than yours and i have no issue with the time it takes to do any of those things, and i happen to enjoy watching the invasion video thing, also, clicking more than once on a button tends to slow things down in general... and the whole thing with attacking one ship at a time is rather rediculous anyway, all the defending ships should defend at the same time, just like attacking ships attack at the same time

all upgrade tiles made available on planets which anyone can get regardless by researching Terraforming and building the Orbital terraformer in general i choose evil, mostly for the free starbase modules and invasion tactics

I'd like to see starbases that automatically upgrade themselves when you research a new tech. I'd even make them take a certain amount of time to build improvements based on your manufacturing level. i just realized there is already something very much like that in the game, the auto-upgrade for colony improvements, it would allow for less mic

Why does Iowa need more CPU's? i lol'd I think that there could be times during player's turn where certain things

to all those people who are going on about how a human player using a small fleet to destroy a large AI fleet, the only times i managed that in MOO2 was when i had vastly superior technology, as in Hyper-advanced 30 everything.

I think the issue here is not how real the game is, but how much work it would take. In my opinion, making the 0class planets usable would be the best "major" change. that would be nice... at the very least an 'outpost' style ship setting up specific use bases, like starbases but cheaper, but also with less modules and can only go on class 0 or

One of my own suggestions how to make civilizations more unique is to rework the goverment system. All the aliens just feel too Human. Example with thalans which obviously is a bug race, I feel weird when Iam choosing a bug Democracy. How about changing it to something like "higher hive mind thinking" and give bit different bonuses? Huge work for all the races but would de

i like those ideas... one thing i liked in MOO2 was the fact that blackholes got in the way of sending ships around sometimes, and as for the 'this game only takes place over a decade' argument, look at the tech tree, i doubt anyone will ever go from 'ion drive' to 'warp drive' in less than a year

5. Better Auto Explore algorithm agreed, quite possibly the most annoying thing in the game is watching your scoutships follow eachother around in circles or going back and forth... what i'd like to see is something like whats in Star Trek: Armada 2, the ships continually auto explore until either destroyed or the game ends. as for t

me, i don't even bother researching defensive techs, i've found they just take up too much space on the ships to be worth it. i mean, kanvium takes about 20 sp, while the nano ripper only takes 14 and does more damage than the kanvium defends

i have to say, as much as i'd like to see tactical combat ala MOO2, i'd have to agree that it would be a bad idea for this game, but the ideas of combat strategies and 'first strike' are both really nice and would add to the gameplay, one possible addition would be an 'artillery' type of weapon that could strike ships that are a parsec or two away, possibly a starbase module
