I, too, would like to understand this. If you look at mine, it is a simple total. The difference, I think, is that I have all 1.11 games and do NOT have any recalc issues with older games or with betas. I suspect the drop some people saw with posting is that new posts forced an immediate recalculation of their older scores?

It is not really that tough to displace people and move up in rank even with the older scores present in the Metaverse. I have 5 games submitted (and recently submitted) and I am currently ranked 11th. All of my games are 1.11 with no betas. All that really needs to be done is to get a Metaverse recalculation that catches the beta versions that were missed on the first pass. As time passes, people who do not play regularly will tend to drift down in the rankings. I do have a job (which I am

OK. I'm playing 1.11, so maybe this has been fixed in the beta...But I have noticed a three different autopilot bugs and wanted to know if others are/have seen any of these. I’ve been playing on large maps, suicidal, stars and planets abundant. I have only seen these issues in late game scenarios. I do not use the rally points, but simply right click the blue icons and send my ships to where I want them. I've found that, for me anyway, it seems to be faster than workin

I mostly agree with the sentiments above. I never build The Secret Police Center, The Propaganda Center, The Galactic Guidebook (the definition of useless) or Hyperion Shipyard. All of the temples are of questionable use, and only good under specific circumstances. Given that I tend to quick games, they seem to never be capable of paying their own way. While Gravity Accelerators are nothing to get excited over, at least there is a tangible benefit no matter wher

The 1.11 patch helped out my laptop tremendously. Notably 1.1. was much worse than 1.0 on my laptop and basically unusable, so be sure to go to 1.11. Also, you will definitely need a decent sized swap file even for a normal medium map or a sparse large map (I have 512MB on mine as well). I am able to run with all the default settings. Even so, playing on the laptop is pretty harsh compared to my desktop with a 1GB RAM.

I saw something about this in another thread at one point. It's supposed to be a design choice to prevent hoarding. I was only aware of it happening around 20K. I didn't realize there was a 10K threshold as well.

Watch the military graph, you don't need to build a single military ship until you see the computer start to build ships. If you don't consider tech trading too cheesy, use this as a trigger for tech trading for military techs and immediately design and start building ships as soon as the computer puts out it's first ship. Then, after a few turns, check to see if any of your neighbors haven't built any ships. If they haven't, especially if they don't yet have planetary invasion, thi
