The last game I played using the newest beta had pirates attack the whole galaxy. Worked fine. We slowly crushed them one by one until the threat was finally put down.

How long does rebooting take to get back to XP? 30, maybe 40 seconds? I won't complain at all about no Linux support as I still have to boot into XP for all my other games.
I pre-ordered. I want it NOW! (Please)
I want more expansions rather than waiting until 2010! Just do this: "For example, I would be open to revamping the whole economic system in a future expansion pack to help streamline it. I'd also like to expand the United Planets to allow civilizations to submit "bills" to the UP to vote on. I'd also like to see more types of ship components, more diplomatic options, and so on." And I will keep paying to "upgrade" my game.
Awesome guys! Stardock has made a life long fan out of me long ago, so now you guys are only showing off!
You guys are by far the best game devs I have ever come upon. I fully support yall and will continue to do so. Companies like UBIsoft and EA just can't touch the quality of what we have here.
I just checked the manual and it doesn't say exactly. It does mention being able to steal techs but it doesn't say how. Maybe it just randomly happens if you keep a spy in someones world long enough. Or maybe they need to be on a tech building square?
I have never even had a civ that did not have a single ship let alone them attacking me with nothing!
Imagine that!
It is very important. You have to keep the people happy though!
Wow, you guys deserve so much credit. You guys are by far my favorite game devs! Thanks!
I just recently noticed this post. I have joined!
Oops I forgot to ask, why was there another updated a little while ago? The patch seems to have been rereleased. What changed?
I for one have never had any terrible problems with GalCiv2. Thanks to you all for making this game so great. I love the download system for the updates as well. It is simply the easiest system to patch out of all the games I play. (Which is more then I care to admit.)
I wont be able to play it until later. How have yall liked it?
Hurray!
Well it used to be that you could ally as soon as your relationship reached friendly. Now it seems as if it is close only. Much harder.
I lost my wife, my children, my car, my house, and soon enough my laptop all because whenever I tried to quit playing GalCiv2 it told me a few more turns wouldn't hurt. Now I am out on the streets begging people to let me charge up my lap top battery in their house so I can play more. jk of course... but that little message makes me feel guilty about quitting sometimes. Need an examp
Thanks for all of your replies! It was very informative.
It has been pretty tough to get an alliance I thought in this most recent build. The AI all ally with themselves easy enough though.
I have seen on these forums many complain about how easy the game is and I see many people beating the game on the hardest levels. I for one get my ass kicked on normal. I have tried doing things many different ways but some bigger galaxy power always figures it best to crush me. I can't keep up with technology and economy and my military all together. If I get a strong military then my economy sucks. If I go all out technology then I usually end up having a small military. Where can I
That was entertaining!
That is strange! I have played over 10 games and I have never seen a "Close" relationship. As soon as I see "Friendly" I just select alliance and drop them a bribe if needed. Works every time.
I did the same thing in my last game ^^^^^^ Lost my whole navy for that lol...
I have not played Civ4 but I love space and any game that has to do with it so I have not even bothered with Civ4. So rock on GalCiv2!
