This may sound lame but... When it gets really intense when playing Halo on Legendary against the Flood, and they sneak up behinde you and whack you, especially in my awesome 5.1 surrouns sound...

I hope so, it would be awesome! I have yet to have the AI make a note worthy allaince together, and I play on mesochaotic...
And Bush stays forever!!! My wildest dreams have come true!
Oh, and sorry for all the typo's, I should really double check myself
LMAO Gotta love whackos Accually I save those hard facts for those who come right out and blame eveything on Bush and the republicans, to show them they have no idea what they are talking about. Things like what I said, that durring the Cold War the US was succesfully infiltrated by Communist spies that the liberals let stay. Look up t
Man I love it when people think they understand polotics... it makes me laugh! Did you know that whne President Roosevelt was president he accualy had a Soviet Spy advising him at Yalta? And there was evidence before that was presented to Roosevelt and his liberal friends that Alger Hiss was a spy. It was even proven he was a spy but Roosevelt didn't listen. Oh and for all of you who don't know which I suspect many of you don't, the conferance at Yalta helped create the UN. So
Want a kick butt race that will stand its own on any difficulty??? I found out that giving a race a 30% or 70% population growth is proboly the best stat that you could give. You get more people faster leading to faster colonization and more tax revenue early on so that you can leave you production at 100% throughout most of the game. I've tried a race with a 70% pop growth bonus on mesochaotic and it is doind very well (Or maybe thats because I am just so good <img src="http://images.stardoc
Yeah, my comp easily compares to (if not better) the Xbox 360 graphics wise and performance wise. In some ways my comp is even better. Like TheProgram said, it is just PR to get you to buy it...
I have had a bit of a different problem but it is related. I created a tech that gave a 15% PQ bonus if researched. So on average each planet that I controled would increase by 2-3 PQ wich would be awesome later in the game when everything is built up. When I researched it it did not work. So I don't think that it is percentage base counted wich I think isn't right. I also double checked and all of my coding for that tech is correct...
Congrats on the newborn! And again, many thanks for being so commited to this game. I will speak for all in saying that we can not express in any words how much we appreciate the commitment of the GalCiv staff, it really makes a difference!
Recently in the games that I have been playing I only have one ship design capable of attacking. Every so often after I get better weapons/defences I upgrade thier design. I use a small ship, hence small logistics, and make fleets of about 15 of them and with them being cheap it works out. With Phasors IV I have fleets that have about 325 attack and a 175 defence. It also makes managing your fleets alot easier so you don't have to worr about balancing them out.
Seems like I have missed something in this game... How do you upgrade all outdated ships at once?
It really comes down to who can get the most planets out of the planet rush. If you know how to do this correctly and effectivly then you can win the majority of games. For example I was playing a game on a large map with 9 other civs set on painful difficulty. After the first planet rush I had about 40% of the planets all to myself (and remember this is a large map, so it is a bit small:)). And this was all without cheats...
Well I am currently playing a game with 9 other races on gigantic with painful difficulty. Right now the Torians have about 1/8 of all the planets after the initial colonization. I have about 15 planets and I am about the same size as everyone else except the Torians who are currenly owning all in everything. I have tried setting up an alliance with a few other races my size but no matter what I do I can't get them to like me enough. In my mind it would be ideal for one of them to ally with
What I think they mean by tactical battles would be to have different options when battling. Ex. Attack Right/Left Flank Attack from behind Retreat Target Engines/Weapons/Life Support Full Ahead Charge Quick Attack (Go in fast make an attack then run away)
I think that it is awesome that Stardock and the developers of GalCiv2 have the presence of mind to accually work with their game to make it better, not just release it and be done with it like mostly all the other componies do. I love that you guys take feedback from the players of this game to make it better, it really adds to the experience and makes it ALOT more enjoyable! It is real convienient to not have copy protection, but that is not the reason I bought the game. I looked
The creators of this game have repeatedly mentioned GalCiv3 in the future in many posts, so I think it would be a safe bet there will be one in a few years:)
Thanks for the help Kryo, works fine now, and great mod!
Ok, I downloaded the mod, unzipped it to Galciv2/Mods folder, installed it, and it is there. My problem is that it is not appearing in the game. I looked to see if I had to enable it from the directory directly in the game but it was not there either... I have v1.2b. Help would be appreciated
I think you guys need some new computers:) I can run GalCiv2 in the background with a couple of internet browsers up... It takes up ALOT less processing power then some other games...
What type of graphics card do you have?
Yep, Will Wright ( THE CREATOR OF MANY REVOLUTIONARY GAMES ) said 1st Q of 07. This game looks so awesome! Just think, eventually in that game you could explore 500,000 star systems!!! The majority of them with life! Now how do you do that??? That is what you call game designing!
Maybe no taticle control then but at least some tatics added so the ships do not just randomlt fly around and shoot...
I think it needs a almost total overhaul... The ships seem to just randomly fly around and shoot at each other, I find this neither very realistic or enjoying. It would be awesome if the player had more control over what happened in these battles, like the option of different formations, attack patterns, ect. Of course you would have the option to automate these battles, kind of like Rome: Total War. I don't know if this would take away from the game and what
