I noticed even at the hardest settings its good to have allies . I usually pick if i choose evil at least 3 allies to help with tech trading and money. If you go it alone at the uber hard settings they will wipe the galaxy with you . Anyone else with some tips.
I was thinking about this last night while play DA. Alot of the planetary bonus's like factory and research have the same icons i take it or have they changed in this recent expansion? Anyways i was wondering about changing the icons or having icons like a money bonus. Certain planets yield more money due to say undiscovered tech or something of that nature. $ as an icon . Also there could be what i call gems bonus that are scattered over the universe that give quickies. Economy,Milita
Been a while since i played galciv2 or DA started playing again after freelancer and the discoverygc mod. Noticed some nice changes to the web site and been looking at sins and twlight of the arnor. I started with a compaq presario 5300us with intel graphics. 2002xp home edition with 256 ram. I began first with memory and graphics upgrading to nvdia geforce mx 4000 and getting more memory which is at 512 now. My system being older i went with ultra memory and nvdia 4000mx. I would get the essentials first that being a power supply. Check with tigerdirect they have been good with me. I never really saw buying a new computer when i can upgrade the one i have now. I usually start building economy centers and then start buying them watching spending as i go. i build up to 4 or five on a planet depending on the available tiles. Then tech trade with other good civ's . I especially look if they have economic improvments i can trade . Also it helps to build more than 1 survey ship and more than 1 space miner. oh i have been in -500 debt before <br
Solar System Destoyers sounds good . I like the fact the each race is developing unique technologies and it really sets them apart from each other. The more different each race is the better. The idea of building on an already solid game is good to. I always say stick with what works and make it better with player feedback. I enjoy the races and as time goes on they evolve change interact different with each other form friendships etc. The galaxy expanding as it is more and more techs can emerge
I downloaded the beta and also downloaded kenwebbs modd omega mod 2 from his site and it works good. With the omega mod and kyro's mod you can create alot of designs from startrek and b5 . As far as i can tell the beta mod works ok. I have had no crashs or hangups .

Then when the little smilie monkey ppl want to eat me they have to chew on the torians first. They should have anti-germwarefar technology which would make a planet less likely to be destroyed. I need some help I am on dialup and downloading that large of a file is a problem . Is there a way to download some hull designs without downloading the whole mod. Say a few klingon ships. I would even be willing to pay to get a cd shipped to me rather than trying to download that large of a file. I am on dialup and it is a pain . Thanks for any help or suggestions

I got a intel celeron 1.10 ghz with 512 mb ram and a nvidia based 4000mx graphics card. I have had no problems with DA until I updated it to the latest release. IT won't show the stars at all on the edge of the map . Its all greyed out but you can still see the planets and ships just no stars.

Starbases- An auto-attack feature or recovery module that helps ships repair faster and better bonus for attacking and defending fleets. This would include a tech that had to be researched in order to use the module 2. More anomolies- Different types. More put into ground invasions. Say you researched a new type of weapon for ground invasions and that was a tank then it would show up when invading a planet or when shock troops were learned then the color would change or something to show that shock troops are being used.
I like starbases for the bonus's they give. I wish the starbases had an auto-attack feature that when ememy ships come into range they would attack first.

I think Improvement is good for any game . I started on freelancer when I got interested in pc games then upgraded my ole presario with new graphics and memory to play galciv2 and dark avatar. As time goes on more ideas can be shared about the game and following expansions will get better. I played on the ps2 which I hardly touch now cause i play mostly pc now.
Hmm I don't know wonder what the developers have to say about this issue? Or would they comment? Best to ask them when they get into the chat room or email them. If something is wrong then hopefully they will fix it tweak it or something.
Me i just know that the pirates hate me and kick my economy's butt . I was playing on challenging and aside from the pirates which left me bankrupt the kyrnn sent spys to tap my industry needless to say they wiped the floor with me. Besides in time every game can become better with fixes more ideas and more improvements .
Have not got mine yet have not been to the post office. I had to redo my computer cause of a crash and I lost everything. No way to download it cause dialup sucks but the cd is on its way i hope.
I got it downloaded from the alternate download site last night been playing some today. Minor races are good especially the third space invaders. I set it to tough but quickly ran out of funds while londo and his centauri hordes was cleaning my galaxy up.
I am having trouble downloading the mod. It says I need the latest version of the macromedia flash player and I downloaded that . I have tied lowering security settings and making sure scripting is enabled but no luck.
