Why do some techs use the enhancement naming system (Deflectors, Enhanced Deflectors, Advanced Deflectors...) and others use the roman numeral naming system (Shields, Shields II, Shields III)? I'm not really opposed to either, but sometimes the tech tree skips a step with enhancement (Basic, Enhanced, Advanced, Expert, Ultimate, Superior). For instance Miniaturization follows perfectly and Tri-Strontium skips a lot, but roman numeral (such as Warp) are right on. Shouldn't
