Can't Get Sound To Work in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

Whenever I start up the game, I get no sound. Not a peep. To be perfectly honest, my computer literacy is moderate at best, so I'd like a simple solution in relatively laymen terms, I'd really appreciate it if I could fix this problem, thanks a lot.
