since toa ive noticed that enemy constructors will do the same and head straight for the nearest resource node i spend turns and turns looking for them only to have a civ halfway across the universe pop up a starbase within 2 sectors of my homeworld is this supposed to be like this ?
I've noticed this to. Minor races seem to be the best at this, constructor ships heading to nodes across vast distances early in the game

Any way to turn off this function? I am playing the thal race and the ship designer is giving me 3 designs, all of the same exact build, very annoying.
Megas are good. You have to have some sort of randomness to keep the games challenging.
Get yourself in a position that it'll SUCK to get a mega event...and it'll appear lol.
That pretty much covers it. :p Some games you never see em, some games you get them all. Just how the dice come up.
DA I see in the research the Arnorian Battle Armor is shown to be +5 Hit points . But when i go to use it in the ship builder it is +6 Armor. Since it is on its own reasearch line, wouldnt the +5 HPs be more accurate/useful?
Anybody ever been wipped out by spys? I just had a challenging game were it stated raining spys. I was near the top in research and had a mid-pack military, my economy was struggling due to the cost of ships that were necessary to keep up with the big boys. I had been having troubles keeping up with spys all game. Then at one point i was getting hit with 2 or 3 new spys about every 10-15 turns (and 1 spy mega event). I was cranking out 1 spy of my own about every 15 turns, but couldnt keep
Do race abilities affect the final score? IE if i create a race with no ability points spent, will it score higher than a race with all (or some) ability points assigned?
Custom combat ships i have designed are not appearing in the ship yard after the necessary tech has been researched. Only support ships (construct, etc.) are appearing when the appropriate tech has been researched. Any ideas?
Upgrading is much easier if you create your own ships in small increments. I also obsolete any pre-built ships, since they dont fit into my custom model. :d
Playing the Torians (Evil) we were doing well with 5 other races in a poorly populated gigantic galaxy. We were #1 in research by a wide marge and #2 in military strength. Things were looking good. Troubles 1st appeared in the form of the Peacekeepers, a race or do-gooder trouble makers. Unfortunately they were also at least 50 years advanced in military tech, everything we threw at them was easily swatted away. All my military and nodes were quickly annihilated. Later...Af
Part MoM....YAY One of my all time favorites. Part Populous....Booo One of my least favorites. Part X-Com....Yay Another enjoyable game
Thanks for the info. I dont always read the screens that come up and wasnt sure if i had missed a random event.
DA 1.8e Is there any reason in the game for ALL uninhabitable planets to suddenly become habitable 16 planets?
