To be honest i haven't played much starcraft, but the sequel at least looks mostly similar. What is different?

Interesting idea. I am not sure I would like it to be that personal though, but I do like the idea of population as a resource

There is a story. A great story at that. did you pay attention to the opening cinematic/ It explains everything. what is not told is the fate of these empires. that is for you to decide.

Just do what Kyro said. you can build ships just by selecting the planet. the only thing that I see could be lacking ( please correct me if I am wrong) I would like an easier way to select superweapons. It wouls be great to be able to pin them or have thier ability shown on the planet action grid. Another awesome feature (if it has not already been added and I am just too dumb to figure it out) would be to have an option to let a group of units with abilities use thier abilities at once when sel

I used REturning Armada for the first time last night. I dont like it. Sure its useful, but I wouldn't mke getting it the focus of my strategy. It has one huge flaw or I guess balancer. I dont know about you guys, but I like to have a certain ratio of ship types. The RA does not allow that. It gives you a nice supply of free ships, but in my experience I prefer using my massive economy and a few planets comepletely devoted to shipyards to chun out a massive force in about the same time, whats be

I have discovered a benefit to using the phase stabilizers for trade. The trade ships dont go through all those uncolonizable systems, ya know the ones where enemy fleets usually sit and pick off your trade ships. So they actually make trade safer. So you lose a couple points of income, who cares?. You get a perfectly safe trade route. Which to me suggests more profit., but Im not sure if you lose credits for destroyed trade ships Of course this is just my observations, if someone with a little

The game was not canceled. It is still in production, but Stardock has many other projects on its hands. Brad Wardel has stated that he wanted to do the game right, so he has a small team working on it. Later when Stardock has gotten most of its other projects out of the way, developement will kick into high gear. Wardel has also said not to expect the game on shelves before 2009. So we have a long wait. On the plus side though, the projects being wored on currently are gonna rock. The second ex

I agree with Zenicetus that the Kryn are merly a synthesis of religous ideals that the devs used to portray an alien religion. I am also a Christian and would find it silly to be offended even if the Kryn were based off of Christianity, because in reality Christianity has a fairly blood soaked history. Only recently have we begun to turn back to the original meaning of the faith. And has for the whole Golden Compass thing, I have no problems with someone trying to undermine and kill my faith. I

Im my opinion MOO 3 was a good game. Yea it had a lot of issues, and moved sooooo slowly, but it really did give the feeling of an active living galaxy. Civ4 beyond the sword is fantastic. It is just so full of so much cool stuff. I actually dont think I have played just a normal random game of it. Im always playing the various scenarios/mods that were released with the game. It has this awesome mod that is essentially a world map with all the civs on it, but they appear at thier respe

Yes Stardock has got to be the most awesome group of peoples ever (Dont tell the Kerberos Productions dudes I said that). Frogboy has done a fantstic job on the games AI. I play Civilization 4 often and I end up being very disappointed with the AI, because Galciv2's is sooo good.

Well if i am not mistaken the reason for the civ cap is simply that the whole code for the AI is based on there being at max 10 races in the galaxy.

Actually there is a ot of info about the expansion on the Kerberos forums. the devs have released several screen shots of new weapons and ships. here are also fiction stories written to introduce you to the new race. The devs have not told the communty about any setbacks so it must be on schedule. If it makes you feel any better they have been working on the expansion since before the original was realeased.

The recent patch cut down on all loadtimes. Multiplayer is the best way to play the game. Honestly I lost interest about a week ago, but when the new patch or expansion comes out I will be all over it In the mean time I have turned my attention back to GalCiv2. That game just keeps unfolding into more and more greatness. I cant wait for Dark Avatar.

I dont hink it is cheese at all, just think if the AI were able to destroy those bases and take the planet. It would send that player back to the dark ages in terms of tech. By concentrating so much i guess you could call it power in the hands of one planet is dangerous. Plus the time it would take to pull that off, not to mention finding a suitable planet that is positioned correctly in a sector, makes it a huge effort. I have nevr done it myself but it seems like an interesting idea, but not s

I actually liked it and still play often. You cant compare it to galciv because they are so very different. The combat is not as shallow as it at first seems. It can actually get pretty deep the farther up the tech tree you get. If you have just played the demo then you are getting less than half the game. SOTS and GalCiv pefectly coexist on my hard drive. Although they will probably both be replaced by Sins <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl

I am a conservative Christian and I find some of the ID stuff to be a bit lacking. The fact that my Bible doesnt go into detail about EXACTLY how things came to be tells me that it really isnt that important to my faith. Yes I believe God created everything but his methods of doing so could have been the very things the ID community TRY to refute.

I thought i read somewhere that heroes were being added in Dark Avatar. Maybe I just imagined it. Oh well, good idea anyway, both of them.
