I'm still astounded by people posting about the rangers. I've been playing the game for a month and have never seen one of these things. Is there some checkbox i need to hit or something? Am I the only who never gets that random event (I've also never gotten the I-League). Is it more likely on Masochist or suicidal difficulties? Grumble Grumble

TyrGodOfWar is right, starbases have a small base of influence. BUT.... they work really well with MULTIPLE influence starbases because their enhancement work in synchrony on each other. I don't have the math, but if you have two fully upgraded starbases that are within each other's range, they are exponentially more powerful
I think the people posting here are really dancing around one of the key contrasts between the human and AI player. We are all trying to win the game somehow, but the AI players aren't. The AI player simply reacts to the situation that is presented to them, sure sometimes they go to war, but its not like they have a grand strategy. I think it would be more interesting if the AI would attempt to win the game somehow, or at least attempt to prevent you from winning.
You only need to trade to get a trade good. No invasion necessary. No bonus for building galactic wonders on bonus tiles.
Sweet! Thanks Brad (and the whole team!)

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before (I don't feel like searching through the forums) but there seems to be a minor bug in the mini map. I like to use the mouse wheel to zoom in and on the mini map. But, when I zoom from the widest to the second largest zoom view, all the influence overlay disapears off the map! When I zoom even tighter then go back to the second level of zoom again, it reappears. I'm curious if anyo
I've been following this discussion about the mini-expansion and there seems to be a couple of large "elephants in the room" that no one seems to be aware of: 1) Alot of people seem to think that they are the average galciv2 player. Trust me. You aren't. If you are posting on the galactic civilization web site, then you are probably in the top 1% of dedicated players. Think about how many copies have sold, and then look at how many peop
I agree with Hollow man. Although some users might pay for it, the majority of players aren't quite as hardcore as the people who post on your forums. It would be better to save the extra artwork for the expansion.
