It is my understanding that it comes from each save. The more it is saved (autosave) the larger it grows. Not sure if that is the actual case though.

Any news on the release of 1.3.2(or whatever)? As much as I'm enjoying 1.3, the memory leak is killing the fun. I get a hard lock up after about a year of game time and I have to restart my pc. Since it is hard locking I do not get an exception from SmartException to send in. Just curious if we might be getting close to the release since it was mentioned last week that a fix to the leak had been found.

Thank you!!!! Guess I missed that one in the manual. Ok, suggestion withdrawn but I'll leave the bug....***edit*** Hmmm....now even the bug isn't going to repeat itself. Started a new game and this time it worked like it was suppose to. Oh well, just forget I posted today! Thanks a million e-stab.

With v1.3b only one embassy can be built. After that one no other planet in the empire can construct one. (small request...lest I hope it is small) Would it be possible to have the planet list be able to be reversed? As in when you have a couple hundred planets on a huge+ map and want to see those that have lower approval rating you have to scroll down to the bottom every time to get to those planets. It would be nice if the list could be flipped so that those would be at the top

Howdy all! Well, I had to take some time away from the PC. I was starting to spend all my free time sitting here doing nothing. Glad to see we have finially jumped into that first place spot! As for our site, I went ahead and got a forum up and running for us. It is Here Feel free to drop by! Man, the v1.3b is a bit more challenging...either that or I've managed to loose my edge as the AI has started handing me my a

Well, due to population growth bonus at 100%, I try to keep mine there as long as I can afford it. After I have a couple of good research planets set up and pumping out beakers, the rest of my planets have stock markets covering them. I can then normally set my tax rate to 80% and still keep 100% happy. Of course this has to be adjusted as I start dealing with advaned farms since they boost the population into that extreme unhappy range (25K+). I'm fairly certain that it would not

Well, I have finially gotten everything cleaned and put up so that I can get in a little bit of gaming. I also managed to get caught up on reading a lot of the "flame war" that took place in other threads. While I can see both sides even Carielf contradicts herself when she said that they hide threads that expose an exploit. SD allowed the so called exploits to be shared and used as they do the experiment. Of course "we" did fire the first shot saying he was a cheater (and I would have as wel

Hey everyone! Wow, I was only gone a week! I don't care if there is a group exploiting the game to get to the top, then more power to them. I play for fun and as such I try to get a higher score than I did the game before. I think we have a good group of folks and as such I would hate to see it break up. We may have a bumpy ride ahead as they work out the details of the metaverse, but at least they h

As a company I would think that a personal link to your customers and what they think would be invaluable. The ultimate question is, does the cost of "extras" pay for themsleves in the long run? Word of mouth goes a long way and to just yank these forums for a quick fix in stopping the "negative PR" as it was put is a bit drastic. How much do you think that letter by a fan in this months issue of CGW is worth in advertising dollars? How much do you think it will cost if the next one that appea

Hey TBAY...No, you are better than I am. I cannot beat a suicide game and you have it down. I'm just putting up the numbers because I'm starting to figure out all the exploits that can be used which most have been mentioned above. On anything above crippling I get my ass handed to me because I cannot keep up with them buying everything. You did say 6 months and it hasn't been that long yet although I think Jarru might give you a run for that top spot. If I dont get a chance to log on tomorr

Most of my games have been in the 10,000 ~ 30,000 range. How do you score 100,000 points in a game? gigantic maps crippling + difficulty 10 - 20 years game time (actually less time is better, but it takes this time to get the population which is worth more than the hit you take for taking the game out a couple years 5-6t populat

I'm at GMT -6 so it is nearly 19:00 here. I normally have anywhere from 400-500 planets a game. It is just a matter of working on the population although there comes a time when you will max out the majority of your planets. 4 opponents are a nice game for me on a gigantic map. Gives me time for the "colony rush" and still provides enough combat to keep me going. Yes, there is something up with the top players score. Most of them have not posted in over a month. Guess we will

it seems you have fired SD Well, it wouldn't let me edit my post but I mean this to be DG. Too much into the habbit of typing SD I think. I agree with Roy. So DG was frustrated, it seems Brad is as well but... Hats off to DG for the job he did. I know being a mod on an active board can be more than hectic at times and I'd have to

Hey there everyone. I'm not sure what happen but something did. Vigilante jumped up nearly 300k today and is still at 10 games. Major Tom was moved down to 4th by someone with 40 games who was no where near the top before hand. Norad on the other hand did not move. Anyway, just want to point this out in case no one else noticed it.

The minute users begin taking the attitude that these bonuses are entitlements is the minute we get rid of them. But players should never pretend that the website is somehow part of the purchase, it's not. It's just something

I still play with tech trading off. The only way I get their techs is from combat. Also, after I complete the tech tree, I still keep the research slider to at least 30% as it seems you get points for research after you complete everything. gallagher118, as you mentioned, my maps are set up with everything abundant, scattered planets, and fast tech. All victory condidtions turned off except conquest. Tech trading is disabled as is the minor races as I feel they are just a pain tha

Yes, once you hit advanced farms it gets difficult to keep morale up. On the gigantic maps I try to rush to discovery spheres (or NLC) so that I can get through the techs. I do space out the colony techs so that I'm not trying to upgrade everything at once. I normally try to get three or four 12+ PQ planets that are close together for my tech. This way I can surround them with econ starbases to boost the research. I try to do this with at least one of the planets a pq 26. On this planet I ma

I assume email would be the prefered method as I told you I checked out their contact link but I'm sure they would end up being selective in the ones they replied to as they have with the forums. My point was just that IRC is not promoted by StarDock as a place to contact them so don't come in here saying that they have better things to do than monitor the forums. Chat in one form or another is nothing more than chat and it is a waste of time that they could be using for programming but that r

The forums are for the community . . not Stardock. Do the devs not use the forums for their Journals? Why don't they just post that stuff in their IRC client? It is the community asking questions after all so even if it is for the community they could at least give us an answer. I'm sure they have better things to do than monitor stupid-ass

well, my 2 better scoring games go 10+ years but I really think that population is the reason. The last game was 10 years, but I had 6T population. I experiemented on the game before and 2T at 5 years I only would have scored 65K. It may suppose to award you for faster games, but as long as you have 300+ planets still generating population it will outweigh ending the game early. Really makes no sense to seem to want people to sit and hit the turn button just to get a better score.

I have yet to see you go on the IRC. Hmm...good thing StarDock has a forum for its customers, especially if they hang out on IRC instead. If would be nice if they would just talk to us here. I've started to see questions ranging from metaverse to technical issues go unanswered by StarDock which is beginning to feel like we are dealing with one

Orca777 - noradster at gmail.com gallagher118 - I'm not sure if there is another level for divisions but I'm pretty sure that when you submit a game it totals your games and divids by 3. I think I'm going to play one more game with Major Tom and then go ahead and start a 3rd one. Again its boring at times but I think I've figured out how to get 100k+ on a game on gigantic maps. I'll know for sure on the next game. Anyway, if you are happy with your character then go ahead and keep

Our problem, as users, may simply be that we are depending heavily on features that aren't part of the company revenue stream. Hopefully, one day we will start to see responses to our problem posts. They may feel that it isn't a revenue stream, but word of mouth advertising works the same for negative results as it does for positive results.
