I'm a software developer. I've worked in Win32, various Unixes (Linux, Solaris, MacOSX), old MacOS and even worked on a NeXT cube for a while. Lemme say this with all honesty and clarity: They all handle memory very similarly and there's very little difference between them when you start using anything but assembly languages.
